FT-290R2 - Key Beep Disable

Hello,
Wondered if someone has successfully disabled the annoying key beep and scan stop beep with this series transceiver.

When a dual function option is disabled, it stops beeping when used, to indicate that it has been turned off. Hearing a beep indicates the function is enabled. If beeping was to be turned off (some how), radio would not be able to indicate whether a function is operable, or not.

Thanks Gary but there is no 'dual function" associated with this transceiver, you must be thinking of a different transceiver.?

Look at page 30 of your manual. Section 4.5 keypad beep volume

Thanks Gary, was looking for a CPU data line rather than turning down the CW sidetone aswell with that trimpot method.?
