Re: Can the DR60710 power supply cause damage to controllers it provides power to ?

The only additional comments that I will make on this topic is that Karst, in one of the previous posts, corrected his suggestion that we use the GSM60A supplies and instead stated that we

YD7001 questions - booster, consisting
First, can the YD001 act as a booster, or just as a command station?
Second, plugging in a Digitrax throttle or using Engine Driver, can consisting be done on the throttle?

YD7432 Reverser - recommended length of the Sensor track
I've just started implementing two YD7432 reversers each using S1 and S2 sensors.
What is the recommended (or minumum) length for each of these isolated track sections for a correct operation? I know

Re: Can the DR60710 power supply cause damage to controllers it provides power to ?
Our club is in Toronto Canada and we will be replacing all of our Digikeijs booster and command station power supplies. ? I assume that thee 3 prong version, GSM60A, is the better choice for us since

Re: YD7001 and decoder pro
IB-II has more capabilities which are comparable to the YD70xx. So JMRI can use that then.
Plain Digitrax does not have that much features.

Re: YD7001 and decoder pro
SOLVED!
I had the connections matching Karst’s second as in JMRI 5.8 unlenbrock and TCP is not an option.
nevermind, this wasn’t my problem…
when using Loconet over the network one needs to

Re: YD7001 and decoder pro
Karst,
I've been happily using the LAN connection for a while now using "LocoNet over TCP" with the command station type "DCS100 (Chief)". It works just fine. I think I got that config from the JMRI

Re: Can the DR60710 power supply cause damage to controllers it provides power to ?
I will leave it three prong and trust the design. It is better than the one
that destroys equipment!

Re: Can the DR60710 power supply cause damage to controllers it provides power to ?
I wouldn't do that unless the power supply is marked as double insulated class II unit, then it will usually have a 2 pin connector. Power supplies often have filters that are grounded, if you cut the

Re: Can the DR60710 power supply cause damage to controllers it provides power to ?
Reading all this I can only say I'm glad I ditched nearly all the digikeijs smpsu. I got fed up with high touch voltages to earth on my rails. Go on, try it, put a high impedance meter between your

Re: Can the DR60710 power supply cause damage to controllers it provides power to ?
When you say the A is 3 prongs and the B is 2 prongs, are you referring to the plug on the end of the wire? If 3 prongs refers to the UK style plug then the A version needs to be ordered for the UK

Re: Can the DR60710 power supply cause damage to controllers it provides power to ?
Looking at the data sheets for the two, the only difference I can see is
that the A has a three prong power cord input whereas the B uses a two
prong input.
I'll stay with the A.
