Re: Can the DR60710 power supply cause damage to controllers it provides power to ?

It is nothing to do with having an earth in the outlet, although you should use such if using earthed equipment. In Europe (where outlets are earthed) anything which is exposed and powered like track has to fed from a supply that doesn't carry the earth through the power supply. Double insulation or class II is the easiest way to make sure that is true. I don't know what the rules are in Canada, I think in the USA you are free to take more risk.

Hi?

?

Please does anyone have a copy of the DR4024 servo decoder installation software and instruction manual they could upload? The file in the files section is empty.

Thanks (with fingers crossed!)

YD7001 | Resetting Command Station after Short

Hello, (I have not read the manual, my apologies in advance.
?
Today during an operations session, there were many shorts, a good amount caused by operator error, but other from normal things. All the shorts were quickly cleared, but I then had to manually reset the YD7001. My layout is not that big, so originally I was not planning to install circuit breakers. But, I would also like a solution that will try to reset track power after a few seconds, only completely shutting down if the short is not cleared quickly.
?
Is it possible to set the YD7001 to retry track power after like 5 seconds, try 3 times, then require a manual restart after 15 seconds? Or some other similar scenerio?
Or do I need to get circuit breakers installed if I want this feature?
?
Thanks

Re: Can the DR60710 power supply cause damage to controllers it provides power to ?

Karst,
??? our club is in Toronto Canada and we will be replacing all of our Digikeijs booster and command station power supplies. ? I assume that thee 3 prong version, GSM60A, is the better choice for us in North American because all of our AC outlets have a ground wire. ? ?
?
Is this correct??
?
Or are there technical reason we should go with the B version anyway.

You could try JMRI's instructions for the DR5000

Re: YD7432 Reverser - recommended length of the Sensor track

Ok, great setup ??

Re: YD7001 questions - booster, consisting

No, the YD70xx need a minimum of 14DC.
?
that renders 12.8V to track out.

Re: YD7001 questions - booster, consisting

I think my last question is answered if I can use the GSM60A12 - that will give me 12 volt output.
Are there instructions on connecting JMRI to the YD001?

Good evening.
What if it is a USB connection?
Thanks

Buenas noches.
?Y si se trata de una conexión USB?
Gracias

Re: YD7432 Reverser - recommended length of the Sensor track

OK thanks Karst. My layout is also 00/H0 and the longest locomotive is about 28cm so with S1 and S2 planned at approx. 60cm each and the Track Out still having a length of over 4m I'm well within the specs.
All other track sections are supplied using YD6016 / DR4088 current sensors.

Re: YD7432 Reverser - recommended length of the Sensor track

I have it tested here with only 10cm length in H0. Also works, but that pre-requires your sections adjacent to S1 and S2 to also be suplied with a currecnt sensor.?

Re: YD7432 Reverser - recommended length of the Sensor track

longest Loco's length to be on the safe side.

The only additional comments that I will make on this topic is that Karst, in one of the previous posts, corrected his suggestion that we use the GSM60A supplies and instead stated that we should use the GSM60B supplies.? I cannot recall the reason for the change, but it should be somewhere in this topic.

YD7001 questions - booster, consisting

First, can the YD001 act as a booster, or just as a command station?
Second, plugging in a Digitrax throttle or using Engine Driver, can consisting be done on the throttle?
Third - is there a way to set the output voltage?? For example, for HO you might want 15 volts, but for N you would prefer 12.
Thanks,

YD7432 Reverser - recommended length of the Sensor track

I've just started implementing two YD7432 reversers each using S1 and S2 sensors.
What is the recommended (or minumum) length for each of these isolated track sections for a correct operation? I know that the the "Track Out" must be as long as the longest train, but could find no mention about the length of the shorter sensor sections.
?
Track is not yet laid so I can still adjust the plan according to your answer. Thanks in advance.

IB-II has more capabilities which are comparable to the YD70xx. So JMRI can use that then.?
Plain Digitrax does not have that much features.
