Thank you Iain that makes sense.

Re: Help solving a loco that will not run after upgrading DR5000 to YD7001
Hi Jay, Not 100% sure but that decoder might not like RailCom. Try turning off the cutout and see what happens. Ryan

Re: DR5000 compatible with DigiTrax DB210 OPTO booster?
In this illustration from the DR5000 manual shows a DR5000 connected to a power district in conjunction with other DR5033 boosters. Therefore this is either inaccurate or the DR5033 differs from the

Re: DR5000 compatible with DigiTrax DB210 OPTO booster?
So can't use the DR5000 to power a district whenever using another booster, regardless that a DB210 OPTO not requiring ground (actually states not to). Great! As for the DR5000 manual, to quote,

Re: DR5000 compatible with DigiTrax DB210 OPTO booster?
Again, you can still connect a ground to an opto-isolated booster, as NCE does. You can use either OPTO or regular Digitrax boosters with the DR5000, just don't use the DR5000's internal booster for a

Re: Upgraded DR5000 now YD7001
I would check on device manager to see if there are any conflicts, if not worth uninstalling the software, disconnecting the YD7001, then reinstall and finally reconnect. Iain Morrison

Re: Upgraded DR5000 now YD7001
Yes as requested in the setup as it installed. wonder if its a driver problem? however it knows its there because it makes a noise when it connects.

Re: Upgraded DR5000 now YD7001
When you installed the YD9401 software on your new PC did you also install the USB drivers, and if you are using the network to connect have you set that up correctly? Many Thanks Iain

Re: DR5000 compatible with DigiTrax DB210 OPTO booster?
Why do many have (need?) ground whilst the DB210 OPTO and DR5000 don't/can't? From what I gather the OPTO bit is to allow DCC signals from another sources to be used without unpleasant things

Re: DR5000 compatible with DigiTrax DB210 OPTO booster?
You can still connect a common with an opto-isolated booster. NCE does it this way. The DR5000 doesn't have a ground connection, and apparently isn't opto-isolated either, which is problematic. I went

Re: DR5000 compatible with DigiTrax DB210 OPTO booster?
Thanks Alex, I couldn't find anything about the DB210 being a H Bridge booster. I noted the DB210 manual does mention not connecting ground for the OPTO version. Then again I couldn't find a ground

Re: DR5000 compatible with DigiTrax DB210 OPTO booster?
Yes. The non-OPTO boosters are fine too as long as you don't mix them with the internal booster in the DR5000 and have a heavy gauge common. Alex -- Alexander Wood Hartford-New Haven,

DR5000 compatible with DigiTrax DB210 OPTO booster?
DR5000 manual refers to optical isolation and H bridge but not sure what this actually means. Would a DB210 OPTO Booster be compatible with the DR5000? Want to check before possibly damaging either.

Help solving a loco that will not run after upgrading DR5000 to YD7001
Hi I just upgraded a DR5000 that run the layout in the train room? to a YD7001 using a YD9401.? After the upgrade everything works fine except for one loco, 5702, which will not respond to any

Re: DR4088xx loconet and S88 modules
You will need to ensure that you leave enough address space between the YD6016LN ranges to allow for the S88 connections, but otherwise should be OK. Iain Morrison <https://wimorrison.com>

Going back to this old topic of mine would the following work? and how would the addressing on the S88's work in this configuration? Excuse the rough sketch

DR5013 and Hornby sound decoders
I've run across a baffling issue. Some time ago I installed a DR5013 as a reverse loop in current sensing mode, not short circuit. It has worked without issue until I installed a new Hornby TXS

Re: DR4018 set address to something OTHER THAN 9999
You can have flashing and solid aspects if you use one of the signal configurations, but that will limit you to four signal heads per DR4018, I use NMBS as that gives me the aspects I use for US
