Purging locos YD7001

Is there a setting on the YD7001 to purge stationary locomotives. The Z21 enables purging where no new commands have been issued for a number of minutes, the setting has various minute intervals that can be applied.

?

Also is there a way to reduce the number of times an update is sent to each loco or how often a refresh of the commands is sent. I notice that some systems send updates for all locos almost constantly, whereas other systems have a much slower refresh rate.

Background: I have a YD7001 which is used with my Dead rail garden layout, sending commands over WiFi to the battery powered locomotives. The system I use for the WiFi control is WiFiTrax.

Now, the issue I am having is that when we have had a number of locos running the amount of commands coming from the YD7001 starts to overwhelm the WiFi and I start getting delays in response from the locos and eventually some locos become unresponsive. This happens after about an hours running.

If I restart the YD7001 everything goes back to normal running.

Using a DCC sniffer, I can see commands are still being issued for locos that have been stopped and turned off (battery power off). So I am trying to reduce WiFi traffic, by stopping commands being sent for locos that are no longer operating.?

Cheers Brian

Re: DR5033 with Lenz DCC

Thanks Karst.? I figured that was going to be the answer, but I was hopeful.

To answer your question, it's not just a DR5033.? It is connected to the LVZ100 through the CDE connection and to the track through the track output connection.? When it was only one DR5033, it handled the reverse loop aspect perfectly.? With two DR5033s, 90% of the time it works fine.? Occasionally, it will trip the LVZ100 breaker. But not often.? That's what led me to believe by having both DR5033s identified as Module 1, I wasn't always getting the reverse feature on the "right" DR5033.? Does that answer your question?

You can't.?

Need a LocoNet system to configure it through LNCVs.

but...

The other two districts (which are reverse loops by the way)?

How did you do that ? with only a DR5033 ??

DR5033 with Lenz DCC

Hi folks.? My first post.? I have a Lenz LVZ100/LH100 (v3.6) system running my HO scale layout.? It is configured to have three power districts.? The Lenz LVZ100 is supplying the power to the middle power district.? The other two districts (which are reverse loops by the way) are powered by Digikejis DR5033s.? The middle district and one reverse loop have been in place for a year now and have been working fine.? I recently completed the second reverse loop and added the second DR5033.? Wiring is per Section 4.8 of the DR5033 manual. Here is where the question comes in. Does the second DR5033 new a different module address than the first one?? I believe the answer is yes.? Then, I believe I am stuck because everything I've read here and Lenz group does not provide any process (that I've found) to program the DR5033 with the Lenz Express Net. ? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

DR5000 protocol dropdown disabled in LAN settings #DR5000

Hi all,

I'm coming back to modelling after a long while and dusting off my DR5000 (v1.5.5 firmware & app). I have connected to it fine with the app (using a Windows 10 VM on Linux), and can e.g. drive locos on on the track with its built-in throttle, update LAN and wifi settings fine, etc, etc. But I can't change the LAN protocol so as to be able to connect to it using JMRI. As you can see from the screenshot below, the dropdown is disabled, and I can't figure out how to re-enable it. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Mike

Speaking in the name of YaMoRC we are sorry for customers who's dealers let them pay on pre-order.

Not all of them have this policy. We urged our dealers not to do pre-payment on pre-order after this came to our knowledge.

Thanks for the info Iain, having paid for something 3 months ago is not a happy situation, but I now know where I stand.

Alan

There is currently no supply to be had anywhere and you will need to wait until more area available.

Many Thanks

Re: DR5013 slow response

Hi,

I had a couple of private emails asking how this issue was resolved.? The 5013 was probably faulty so I replaced it with a LODI KSM as recommended above.? Works fine now.? I had to switch off the led on the LODI to make it work for my system.? See my later post in July on me asking for advice for the LODI KSM

Re: Downgrade Procedure

Yes, it¡¯s that easy

Re: Downgrade Procedure

The club has 3 DR5000 already converted to YD7001's.

They need to downgrade a YD7001 back to a DR5000.

The club needs 14 wireless throttles and the DR5000 was handling this job in the past.

Is it as easy as change the Wireless module back too the DR5000 unit and upgrade to V1.5.5 or 1.6.3 again?

Downgrade Procedure

I would like to downgrade my YD7001 back to a DR5000. Is this as simple as reversing the module swap or do I need to do something else?

Re: Difficulty acquiring locomotives with a Duplex throttle

I did find that sometimes I could acquire a locomotive with the DR5000 (though sometimes there was a long wait). Now with the upgrade chip, I have never been able to acquire one.

Yes, correct.

Re: Difficulty acquiring locomotives with a Duplex throttle

I tried a UR93 on the LocoNet B network and it didn't wokr there. I also tried a UR92 there and got only red/green flashing lights.

I ask because I have the UR93 (only) but have observed this same problem with my DR5000 (not yet upgraded) - though it appears to be intermittent.

Re: Unable to operate a flashing LED with DR4018

Yes a small relay would work, I use reed relays, they take little current. Put a reverse connected diode across the coil to protect the output from voltage spikes.

Re: Unable to operate a flashing LED with DR4018

Thanks Mike and Ian for your inputs. I thought this.would be a quick and simple solution to make crossing lights work in conjunction with a Green signal. I am using iTrain to control the layout and the signal goes Red when the next block activates switching the crossing light off. However it seems this isn¡¯t going to work.

I know i could use the DR4108 to flash the lights but my small N scale layout is using all 8 outputs to control signals and I don¡¯t want to buy another just for this.

Would the output operate the Green light and a small relay?

Robin

Re: S88N connected modules, should the status lights flash

Thank you so much for the detailed answer.?

There are not any inputs on any of the sensor units yet, so this makes sense.?

thanks
