Will adding an LED to a track (to indicate it is on) trigger the detection of the 4088CS?
I know that I should just put together a test setup and confirm all of my assumptions, but I figured I would get other people's experieces first.
I want to know if I put an LED on a track bumper that I could use to indicate whether the track is powered or not (I plan to use an MQTT controlled relay to turn yard tracks on and off) will the LED trip the detection circuit of the DR4088CS? I am also concerned about the MQTT relays, but my assumption is they are just a closed or open circuit and should not change the resistance of the circuit. -- Heath @ Human[c]ity |
DR5000, DR5033 and DR4088 on LocoNet
Hello,
I think I know the answer, but I want to confirm while I am planning out my layout. With Digitrax, there is only one LocoNet bus, and you connect the boosters and throttles, etc... all to the same connection. But with Digikeijs, there is a LocoNet T and LocoNet B. I will have two distribution areas, one with a DR5000 and DR4088 and one with a DR5033 and DR4088. Do I need to run two LocoNet cables between the DR5000 and the DR5033/DR4088? Put the 5033 on LocoNetB and put the 4088 on LocoNetT? Aside: Why did Digikeijs split the LocoNet bus into two separate runs, but Digitrax keeps it all on one? Thanks -- Heath @ Human[c]ity |
Roco Throttles failing to connect to Yamorc 7001
I upgraded my Digikeijs 5000 to the Yamorc 7001.? I connected all my Rocos to the upgraded command station.? Have been running trains with the different throttles all week.? Today I had 7 operators over to run the railroad.? The first three operators to turn on their throttles connected as expected.? However, the fourth, fifth, sixth operator to turn on their Rocos was not able to connect to the Yamorc.? The Rocos could see the Yamorc, but even after I re-inputted the password, they would not connect.??
Then when one of the original operators turned his throttle off, one of the others who could not connect before, could now connect.? Is there a limit to the number of Roco throttles that can be actively connected at one time?? Is there a software change I need to make in the Roco or the Yamorc? And incidentally, the two TCS throttles I have did connect as expected with the three Rocos. Thank you for any guidance on this. Ron White |

Function key 2 (F2) is latching / non-momentary on the YD7001 ?
Hi
****? This is a repost of a topic I opened on the YaMoRC forum by mistake.? Sorry for the duplication for some of you. **** On the YD7001 we have discovered that in our environment F2 is latching / non-momentary when using the WiThrottle and Z21 / WLANmaus protocols (we have not tested others).? Has anyone else observed this ?? Does anyone know if the behaviour of F2 can be changed on the YD7001 ? What is more interesting is if we connect the same throttle to the YD7001 through an LNWI, the behaviour is different - F2 is non-latching / momentary. Typically in North America F0 = head/rear light, F1 = bell and F2 = horn, and the horn sounds only as long as F2 is pressed.? I have discovered through web searches and reading that in Europe F2 typically controls the head/rear light, which of course you would want to stay on after F2 is pressed (latching / non-momentary). Feedback on the behaviour of F2 on the YD7001 in other people's environments would be helpful as we are trying to figure out if we a unique behaviour. Jay Lennox - Toronto |

DR5000 Program Track Loco long address
Hi I am having some issues with programming locomotive with long address.
First if I use JMRI Decoder Pro I get a message can not communicate with the command station ,ps I changed the USB Cable.no go.with DR5000 too JMRI . The Second if I use My MultiMaus or Wlanmaus Program Long address I receive a message error. If I use the Z21 App I am okay that works. And the DR5000 too Itrain is fine.as well ?I am not sure what I have done wrong. Andrew. |
Re: DR5000 Upgrade to YD7001 at York Railway Modellers in Toronto
Jay,
Thanks for all the testing/information/tips you are providing. It has helped with my setup. I have a large garden railway, O Gauge, that I use the YD7001 as the controller. I run the Z21 protocol on the YD7001. I have not disabled the Internal WifI but I will do that. We had an operating session the other day with 13 trains running. There were 10 operators: 3 on WLANMaus, 5 using the Z21app (3 iPhone, 2 android), 2 using WiThrottle. We had no issues. Also my layout is deadrail with the locos controlled via Wifi using WiFiTrax WFD-60 as the central controller for the battery powered locos. This is fed DCC from the YD7001. The points/switches are also on the WiFi network with 28 points/ switches on 4 WifTrax switch modules. I use a TP-Link DECO a mesh system which the YD7001(LAN), WFD-60, Point controllers and all the locos are connected to. I have a spare Netgear that is hardwired to one of the DECO nodes, this is what all the users connect to. I also tested this with a Google Mesh and an old Apple Time capsule for the users. This all works very well. Why two levels of WiFi: well the Z21 app, WLANMaus and some WiThrottles don¡¯t cross nodes nicely on either the DECO or Google MESH. When changing to the new node, the WLANMaus need to be turned off and on again. WiThrottles need to be closed and reopened. The Z21app goes on holiday, has a few drinks, and eventually comes back to work, in its own good time. Haven¡¯t found a way of easily getting the Z21 app to recover. Meanwhile the battery powered loco continues to run along, along with rising panic levels in the user. All fixed by having a central WiFi router. Regards Brian |
Re: DR5000 Upgrade to YD7001 at York Railway Modellers in Toronto
It has been a while since I reported on our progress.? We have had a number of items we had to overcome to connect more throttles.
We did manage to get our two WLANmaus throttles to connect to the YD7001, and I enabled an additional set of cell phones to use Engine Driver (Android) and WiThrottle (iPhone).? Plus we got another one of our UWT-100s working properly with the YD7001 (see Tip below).
?
Karst also suggested we turn off the internal YD7001 WiFi to provide additional?resources to the LAN connected throttles using WiThrottle.?
Tests done? September 5
?
Test 1 - Internal WiFi off on YD7001, all throttles?connected through router and LAN port on YD7001

Re: De sensitise DR4088LN-CS inputs.
Ryan: I have read about adding resistors to the DR4088 to desensitize the device but never understood how this was to be accomplished until I saw your photos. Awesome, thanks!!!
Just to help me understand further, though, it was my impression that each of the 1-8, 9-16 detection connections were to be separate from each other; ?the way you have them soldered together to the common ¡®C¡¯ is they are all tied together, will then a detection on any one them show detection on all of them, thus making it a tad confusing as to which block is occupied? |
