Access to yamorc.de site for activation code
Hi,
Trying to access yamorc.de to get my activation code for the YD9401 upgrade, I had to delete bitdefender and use firefox instead of Chrome as the default browser.? From the UK the site reads as unencrypted and not secure.? Still not sure if my request for the activation code has been sent.? Has anybody else in UK had this issue?? I tried from PC and laptop with the same result but firefox on PC may have worked.
Regards,
John

Re: #DR4018 mapping outputs to MRC Prodigy Advance
#DR4018
Quick update to this topic.? Owner/Moderator really hooked me up on the knowledge.? Thanks everyone else as well for the contribution.? It has all contributed to a better understanding of my equipment and programming.? This is what we found.? For some reason we could POM the MRC Prodigy Advance to set CV47 to "0" as well as take the DR4018 back to factory Settings also on the Main, but when it came to the finite programing to set the individual outputs and to map the functions, those simply refused to POM with the MRC Prodigy Advance.? We decided to try do the programming previously discussed on the Programing Track.? Everything worked exactly as it should, and using the Programming Track turned out to be way easier than I thought it would be.? I did have to use the special instructions for programming the DR4018 when the controller does not provide power on the programming circuit, but the instructions were super easy.
The takeaway on using the programming track, it was supper easy and did not ahve to worry about the unit timing out of the programming function, as it seems to do while Programming on the Main.

Re: DR5033 - Disable Polarity Switching/Set Polarity Direction
Heath, Page 7 of the DR5033 manual shows that you turn off LNCV bit 6 labelled "Automatic polarity reversal off". It comes on by default. No insult, but how did you miss this? :) I've noticed that I tend to not find things when I search in hope. When I search knowing it's there I often succeed. I must be getting too old for this. And I can also confirm what Jay Lennox has said about keeping all your DR5033's track outputs wired so that they never want to reverse the polarity. Turning off bit 6 will force you to have it wired properly.

@Karst Adding the delays into the 5088RC's fixed the issue. Thanks for your help.

Re: DR5033 - Disable Polarity Switching/Set Polarity Direction
Hi Heath
We had a similar problem at York Railway Modellers 4 years ago, but ours involved 2 DR5033s. We had auto reversing disabled on the DR5033s.- we didn't want them to react before our auto reverses for the loops and turntables did.? When a loco traversed the gap between the the power districts controlled by each of the DR5033s, it would stutter eventually causing one of the DR5033s to show a short. When the short reset, the loco would stutter again and move a little bit.
As we dug into the problem we found that one of our 7 DR5033s track outputs had reverse 'polarity' compared to the other 6.? The solution was to reverse the wires to the power bus on that one DR5033.? That one DR5033 has a label affixed to it saying that the polarity of the track outputs are reversed versus the other DR5033s, just incase anyone ever disconnects the track wires.
Hopefully this will help.? Jay Lennox - Toronto

DR5033 - Disable Polarity Switching/Set Polarity Direction
Hello, I have a YD7001 and a DR5033. It would appear that the polarity of the track power is backwards. If I run a train really slowly across the gap, the track power flickers real quick and then works fine. I suspect this is the polarity switching.? But if I run the trains too quickly across the double gap, the system throws a short. Is there any way to disable the auto switching of polarity and just fixing the track output on the DR5033 to match the polarity output of the YD7001? My other option is the flip the wires coming out of the booster, which would theoretically set the polarity to match, and eliminate the one time polarity switch when I turn on track power. Thoughts? (Yes, I looked in the manual, but I did not see any CV settings for this) --

I have never tried just changing Light 11 only.
You have to program Light 11 on both sides. -- Dennis Cherry Owner/Moderator

Above is another video I watched to understand the programming sequence, ie; using 9999 and the programing button.? The Guagemaster Prodigy looks like it is a pre-cursor to the MRC Prodigy Advance.? They appear to function identically.

will do.? from my end, I have changed so many things I think I need to start with a return to factory settings and then give it another try.

Re: #DR4018 mapping outputs to MRC Prodigy Advance
#DR4018
One other thing.? If I understand your first comment correctly I should be able to change the output 11 to constant on and off by changing the associated CV to 15.? Then It should function on ACC 11 without re-mapping.? So to test this out, I can re-set to factory settings to erase all of the changes I might have made, set CV47 to a value of "0", then set CV 123 to a value of 15.? If I understand it right this will change output 11 to on off.? This will leave output 11 mapped to accessory 11,

Let me read about the MRC Prodigy a little more.

I followed the video implicitly relating to the function mapping.? I even

Basically, changing the output CV and using accessory 11 to control accessory

Re: #DR4018 mapping outputs to MRC Prodigy Advance
#DR4018
Using 9999 is just a means to program and configure the DR4018. This gives you the ability to write to the DR4018 via a throttle device. Using 9999 is the address used to formulate the programming packet. With the DR4018 in programming mode it will open the message packet and carry out the programming instructions.
Accessories controls are basically Switch commands be it Closed or Thrown. It is the Switch Address that you programmed into the DR4018 that will actuate the relay connected to the switch or light.
So you will access the Accessory Button, enter the switch number a either throw or close the device/relay.

Re: #DR4018 mapping outputs to MRC Prodigy Advance
#DR4018
Ok thank you all for the replies but new issue, same question.? I followed the instruction implicitly.? I even found a video on the subject and walked through the exact procedure.? The procedure was to keep paired outputs 1-10 to be snap switches, which seems to be the factory setting.? The outputs 11-16 to be turned to constant on and off lights.? So to do this I had to change each of the function CV's for 11-16 to 15 as discussed, then to change the function mapping of output 11-16 to function 6-11.? No joy on this all.? each time I do it, the mapping of the unit to start with function 1 gets dropped, and it does not control the lights as I expected.? I use a MRC prodigy advance which basically has both accessory commands and function commands with the locomotive setting (9999).? Once I reprogram the functions do I need to be using the functions like this unit was a locomotive.? I can control accessories and routes, while running a locomotive, without switching locomotive to 9999, but for my re-mapped outputs do I need to change my Locomotive 9999 and use the locomotive function keys?
