Re: #DR4018 mapping outputs to MRC Prodigy Advance #DR4018

... and to answer your 1st question... yes, I know it can be done, I'm just not clear on the approach to setting the CVs appropriately. There are YouTube videos on this topic but they all leave me confused. I believe there is a chart somewhere but I don't know where to find it. Perhaps a chart that is filled-out for different scenarios would help. In other words a chart that shows the CV values for Outputs 1-8 for turnouts and Outputs 9-16 for lights then another chart that shows the CV values for Outputs 1-8 for lights and Outputs 9-16 for turnouts.

Re: #DR4018 mapping outputs to MRC Prodigy Advance #DR4018

Thanks for asking this question. I, too, have asked this question in the past. I received replies but I am still left without a clear understanding of setting the CVs appropriately to have certain outputs control turnouts and others to control lights. Hoping somebody can provide an answer that can be applied universally.

Re: LocoNet & WiThrottle question

Sorry Karst, my mistake and you're assumption was correct.

?While operating the TCS, the DT602 does not update. It's not a massive problem, but if I pick up the TCS handset after previously using the DT602 (and it's still left plugged in), the DT602 seems to "refresh" and then sends it's update over to the TCS. This can result in the loco stopping or a function turning off or on depending on how the DT602 was left.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks.

Re: YD7001 upgrade - withrottle setup questions.

The sad thing is several people had told me I was going to be able to do this,

yep, that¡®s sad indeed. Unfortunately there is a lot of non-knowledge out there.

better ask ?The Master¡° himself ;)

Re: Changing Address Input Properties on YD 6016 RB CURRENT SENSOR

That¡®s not a Problem !!

as by design, the Roco-RBus does not allow for individual addresses.

so please follow the manual to assign addresses.

Changing Address Input Properties on YD 6016 RB CURRENT SENSOR

I have tried to change the Address numbers of the Input Properties on two of my YD 6016 RB Current Sensor but it won¡¯t let me change the numbers in the Address column. It lets me change the numbers in the On, Off. and Feedback Columns. Anyone else had this problem.?

Re: YD7001 upgrade - withrottle setup questions.

H Karst,

Well thank you for letting me know at least I can now leave it alone as it is and save everyone's time.

The sad thing is several people had told me I was going to be able to do this, it is what I intended to do with my spare unit with my display layout. ?So that project is now killed and I will take time to consider what I do with the spare unit I have. ?

On a more positive note I think the YD7001 seems a more stable and reliable unit. ?I found a couple of my locomotives had to have the address rewritten. ?I had always had some concerns about the DR5000. ?Early days it would not read addresses that had been written by the ESU loksound programmer. ?

Being now routed via the home router I find the battery time on the TCS is shortened a little but I think the new setup is a bit more responsive.

So for the money I am happy with things as they are. ?

I may look at the spare unit later in the year.

regards

Doug Johnson

Re: YaMoRC YD9401 Available in Australia

Hi all,

I have requested to become a YaMoRc dealer, I run a small DCC business in Australia, Buckambool Model Trains, predominantly dealing in decoders from ZIMO and ESU, plenty of installation work also. I sold a fair few Digikeijs DR5000 units through Marty at Ridgepointe Rail, and have one myself, as well as at our N scale club here in Sydney. Keen to continue that supply if I can! I've just sent off another email to Karst and the team, would appreciate if you guys could get in touch with me! Seems to be a few of us here in Australia wanting/struggling to get in YaMoRc equipment!

Cheers,

Jarryd

#DR4018 mapping outputs to MRC Prodigy Advance #DR4018

My prodigy advance has locomotive, route, and accessory functions.? I have a Dr4018 that I am controlling my atlas smap switches.? Honestly 4 years after I set up I could not tell yyou how I did it.? I think I just connected and the unit was preset to control this.? Anyway here is the real question.? I want to set up the next 3 paired outputs (5-10) for controlling lights on the display.? First question is can outputs 1-4 control a snap switch while 5-10 is set up for on off of lights.? I can not figure out how to change outputs to have differing output types.? The next question might be an MRC question but how do I change the output to be controlled off of accessory and pick the accessory number.? For example I would like accessory 1 to control 5-6, accessory 2 to control 7-8, and accessory 3 to control 9-10.

Connecting decoderwerks 00101 booster to yamorc 70001

Has anyone tried connecting decoderwerks booster yet? Can't seem to find much on the subject.??

Re: YD7001 upgrade - withrottle setup questions.

Hi,

?

It looks to me that Doug is looking for the routing function of the DR5000... ( aka, connect to the WiFi and then gain access to the LAN network )

Well good news: That horrible security hole in the DR5000 Network module is no longer existent in the YD9401.

So if you want to use JMRI's WiThrottle you'll need to connect to a WiFi accesspoint that has secured access to the network that has JMRI connected to it.

?

One thing for sure, that will never be in the YD9401.?

Re: LocoNet & WiThrottle question

Hmm... an even more confusing statement ;)? ( since it's exactly the opposite of what I concluded )

Please try to elaborate what you are doing on either Throttle an what is/is not updated from which one.

Re: YD7001 upgrade - withrottle setup questions.

Hmm strange.? Here's how it worked for me assuming I understand this is what you're after.

On my recently upgraded YD7001 connected to jmri using USB cable from my laptop (where jmri will be running) and the laptop is also connected to my home network via wifi.

1. Turned off Withrottle service on the YD7001 network panel (not the wifi panel).?
2. Started up jmri using the USB cable connected directly to YD7001 with the Digitrax/LocobufferUSB config in the jmri connections panel.
3. Manually started the Withrottle service within jmri ( it can be configured to autostart).
4. On my TCS throttle I added my home network and after it connected to it, it took another few seconds to find the Withrottle service running from jmri.

I did not have to enter any ip addresses. In fact with this kind of setup, you don't even need the YD7001 on your network at all.

You could try to reset the network panel to defaults and try again?

Re: YD7001 upgrade - withrottle setup questions.

I have tried that already.?

when I turn off the Withrottle in the YD7100 the TCS reports it cannot find Withrottle at all. ?I tried setting the address and port manually but it still does not work through.?

I assumed that this upgrade would just allow the DR5000 to turn into a router and allow this connection but it does not work like that for me. ?

Been a long time since you could. Most countries including US, interest rates are higher and that impacts exchange rates.
Unfortunately buying stuff from US isn't cheap and postage just adds. I recently purchased several DR4018 from the States, ouch!.

Re: YaMoRC YD9401 Available in Australia

I bought one yesterday from the Netherlands. Still stock available there;?
Regretfully postage is more than the cost of the YD9401, but you can¡¯t hold the poor Australian dollar against the Europeans or Americans. Albanese economics at work here¡¡ :-(

Looking forward to update My 5000 and go forward again. Now to get my Lenz controllers changed out :-)

Re: LocoNet & WiThrottle question

Yes, the dt602 does not update the TCS throttle, but it works the way around.?

Hi,

Can you describe a bit more elaborate what updates what and what does not ?

Now I conclude that the DT602 is not updated while operating the TCS ???

Re: YD7001 upgrade - withrottle setup questions.

If you don't want the TCS to connect to the WiThrottle service on the YD7001, then just turn that service off (assuming you don't need it for anything else). Then, when the TCS boots onto your network, it will only see the JMRI WiThrottle service.

LocoNet & WiThrottle question

Hello everyone,

I upgraded my DR5000 to YD7001 the other day and for the most part it went well and I'm up and running. I had a couple of niggles i.e. Dodgy USB cable, and I had to re-jig the S88 settings to get it to see the YD6016ES-GND for my toggle switches.

Prior to the upgrade, I used a Digitrax wired throttle (DT-602) and a LNWI unit with TCS UWT-100.

Since the upgrade (I removed the LNWI unit as it should now be obsolete) I'm using a combination of my wired throttle (DT602) and TCS UWT-100 via WiThrottle service from the YD7001.? My issue is that when I take up the TCS throttle and control a loco that was previously controlled by the DT602, the status of that session is not updated on the Loconet throttle, but it does update the other way around i.e. on the TCS when I use the DT602.?

Any ideas or thoughts on how I can workaround this? I realize that prior to the upgrade, I was effectively using 2 Loconet throttles (1 x wired, and 1 x LNWI), but I'm a little surprised that the session can update only 1 way.

Thanks.
