Re: YD7001 Power Supply Voltage

Indeed, as the 7001 FW is a backport of the 7100. But the YD7001 lacks the measurement hardware.

in a couple of weeks I will publish a hardware patch to the 7001 PCB that enables Voltage measurements.

Re: YD7001 Power Supply Voltage

This is the same for me. I was told yesterday in the Facebookgroup that this is "by design" for the YD7001.

The new YD7100 will show the correct voltage.

Re: YD9401 to JMRI

Hmm, Timeout is set to 0.

I jjust updates the YD9401 and it went from v1.1.3 to 1.1.1, so maybe that will fix my issue.

Re: YD9401 to JMRI

I have been running much like Vinny but recently upgraded. I had disconnect problems until Karst told me to set the timeout setting for the LocoNet connection to zero. I think that is the change you need to make. Search the channel for that advice.
Vinny, let me know if you need help, I'm just up the road from you in Cary.

Bob Gamble

YD7001 Power Supply Voltage

I hope I am doing something wrong again.....
I connected a 15v DC power supply (Meanwell 15P1J) to the YD7001. The 15v DC is confirmed by my multimeter.

However in the YD7001 app (Build 59) the power supply window shows 19.0v and the track voltage window shows 17.8v.
My RRampMeter from DCC Specialties shows 14.1 volts on the track which is roughly what I expected.

I do recall buying a DR5000 with a 19v power supply initially since that was all there was available, but bought a 15v power supply rather than the supplied one as I run HO and not O scale. Is that a clue?

Re: YD9401 to JMRI

I spoke too soon. It only works for about 5 minutes and then stops working.

As much as I would prefer to use the network connection between the YD7001 and JMRI, I am going to go back to USB for the reliability.

Oh fantastic, I do have the YD7001.

Re: Tip: Updating software / Firmware on YD7001

I have both USB and the netowkr connected. But in the panel, I selected USB.

From your comment, it sounds like maybe I need to unplug the network cable completely.

Re: Tip: Updating software / Firmware on YD7001

You obviously have not connected the YD7001 to USB.

Re: Addressing S88N devices

It will simply take the next 16 addresses (assuming YD6016CS) after the YD6016LN-ES that its connected into.

Yes, that will work in the default-mode:

?

Where you can set the start address at "First Contact" ( note !! 0-based !! )

?

Also that is possible:

Of course this is only possible with the YD7001. The DR5000 does not have this feature... ;)?

?

?

P.S. Also YD6016LN has this option :)?

Simplest way of doing so is: Find a LAN cable, plug it into your home-router / access-point.? That's it. It will work. That is, if you user WiThrottle - like products on the phones.

Otherwise ( e.g. Z21, App WLANmaus etc ) it might be wise to set the YD's IP-address to static, or ( maybe better ) set your DHCP server (router / access-point) to hand out a fixed IP to the YD.

?

When that all works, you might want to turn-off the YD's WiFi to free up a considerable amount of resources in the YD.

Karst

Is there a way to set a specific address to an S88N device, or is the address completely based on where it falls in the data wiring path?

For example, could I set the first one at 101 and the second one at 201 and the third one at 301.

Or do they need to be consequtive?

What if I added a LN module in front of the string of S88N modules?

Thanks

What is the latest firmware for the YD9401? I have 1.1.3 and I get an error if I try to update.

Integrating YD7001 into my home network

Hey all!

Could someone help me in integrating the DY7001 into my network? I would like to have people who come over be able to log into my home network, and the YD7001 be there on their phone apps. I DO NOT want a separate SSID/Network. IF that is possible.

Thanks!

Re: YD9401 to JMRI

Vinny, I was never able to get the DR5000 to consistantly work over the network, so I was using the USB connection.

Robert, thanks for this information. So I am assuming that you are not running the LocoNet Server on JMRI, and the YD is the LocoNet server for the system. I will give this a try later.

Thanks
