The DR5000 doesn¡¯t support DCC Aspects (aka DCC Ext) which means you will not get all the functionality of the YD8116 until you upgrade to the YD7001. There will be an auto-reverse module but it is in the hands of Karst when that will become available and he is a very busy man currently.

Thank you Iain,

I have already ordered 2. I have also bought the?
YaMoRC YD9401The Wi-Fi/LAN upgrade for Digikeijs DR5000 which might arrive after YD8116.?

Can I use the YD8116 with the DR5000?

Also is there a replacement for reverse loop on YD?

Thank you

Re: Tip: Updating software / Firmware on YD7001

Karst,

Yes, I did find that, eventually. It is not obvious that it is a button. I just thought it was a picture. It doesn't look like a clickable button.

In general, I like your products and I love the support you provide. But it is often difficult to understand how to use the software. Render things explicit. Instead of saying "Attention, Update only possible with USB connection !", something like: "Update requires USB connection. Click button to change ->" might be a bit more clear. And make the button look like a button. Don't expect that users will mouse over everything to discover what is clickable.

Bob Gamble

12 days ago we published Build 59. ( Widely commented here that I *should* advertise it here ? ) In there is App 8.2.2 Firmware 8.2.2 for YD7001 and Firmware 1.1.5 for YD9401

Sorry... Bull Shit.? It's not an DR5000 anymore ??

You just NEED an USB connection if you want to fool around with your network settings, since soon you are about to cut the branch on which you are sitting ?

Except controlling Solenoids. But for that we have an equally well equipped decoder: YD8008? ( can even switch reliable two SEEP in parallel ? )

Hi Iain,

One day, on my next level up, I will be continuing to use iTrain but will be adding in Union Pacific signalling (a restricted set to save me from going even madder). ?
I see that the YD8116 has ready configurations for Dutch, German, Swiss and UK signals.
Will I have much trouble with my ¡®wish¡¯ using iTrain and the YD8116 ?

Thank you.

Cheers,

Alastair

Absolutely the YD8116 is the DR4018 on steroids. You can do so much more with the YD8116 than you can with what you are using now :)

Many Thanks

Re: Tip: Updating software / Firmware on YD7001

Heath, I had to change the connection to USB in the application panel. I wasn't smart enough to just unplug the Ethernet cable. I can't remember if I had to restart it or not, but it was a pain to get the application into a state where the update would work properly.

Bob Gamble

I do not know how, since I only downloaded the software about a month ago, but somehow I ended up with an old version of the PC software.

Everything is not updated, Thanks

Re: YD9401 to JMRI

Karst, if I had any idea what I am doing, I would be dangerous.

My YD7001 says that it has the latest firmware.
Then I went into the YD9401 page and clicked the +SPDIFFS button and hit update. Then is went from 1.1.3 to 1.1.1.

I wonder if I am using the wrong Computer PC software. I will check the version later.

Which version of the YD6016 to sense a 5v-24v signal?

I would like to be able to connect some trainspotter motion sensors to my layout to detect whether a train is moving in or out of a section on my layout.
https://www.iascaled.com/store/CKT-MOTION

What version of the YD6016 would I need to use with the Trainspotter Motion?

Thanks

Don¡¯t know what you are doing Heath but in Build 59 Version 1.1.5 is included.
