I suspect you are helping them because they are not connected. Your users lose nothing if they are not connected as they wouldn't be able to update anyway.
My comment stands. If a window shows information that purports to be current, it should be current. If it cannot check currency then it should not show misleading information. This is basic.

I understand that you need to contain your forum interaction efforts but an announcement sent to a distribution list of list servers can be done with a single email and may be worthy of your time. Well, for this kind of remarks I am quite allergic.... especially the should part. For YaMoRC there is one official Social Media location:? For the rest, I try to keep up with another dozen or so fora.? That's pretty time consuming as Iain already mentioned. ? But...? ? ?I had assumed the Windows app would let me know when updates were available and just pull them in on command.

? I hope that we show with this action, that we listen, very much, to our end-users to enhance the user-experience of our products.
