Perhaps no one else will miss the step that I missed when updating the YD7001, but hopefully someone else will benefit from me documenting my error.
Many of us have been applying updates to the DR5000 for several years.? Here it was a two step process:
- Install the update software on the Windows system
- Update the DR5000 firmware - click on the USB button on the DR5000 image to open the DR5000 - USB Properties window,?then click on 'Update DR5000' button.
With the DR5000 upgraded to be a
YD7001 (by the installation of the YD9401) the update process for the YD7001 becomes a
three step process:
- Install the update software on the Windows system
- Update the YD7001 firmware - click on the USB button on the YD7001 image to open the YD7001 - USB Properties window,?then click on 'Update YD7001' button.
- Update the YD9401 firmware - click on the WiFI button on the YD7001 image to open the WiFi Props Properties window,?then click on the Expert tab, where you will then click on the Update thunderbolt in the red box on the lower right quarter.
I missed this last step repeatedly and hence was not installing the firmware updates on the YD9401. Until I discovered my error, I could not figure out why the improvements YaMoRC was making available to me for testing were not working, when Karst continued to state they were working in his environment.?
