Thank you Colin, again much appreciated.
The two turnouts do pose a bit of a 'wrinkle' since one of them is part of the main track and one isn't. Ideally I'd like to get some additional scripting in place to handle more than just these turnouts, but will have to research that further. I love that everything I want to do seems possible in the digikeijs ecosystem, I just need to learn how to do it!
My level of experience with DCC is pretty much 'beginner'. I've installed decoders in a couple of locos and done some very basic CV programming, have got a couple of turnouts working with the 4024 servo controller, and got a roco wireless throttle working with the DR5000 (thanks to Ryan's videos). That's the extent of my knowledge at this point.
Thank you for the heads-up on the decoders. So far I've used zimo 622 decoders in all my locos, and they do indeed seem to support Railcom. I'm planning to add a Soundtraxx DSP-80 surround sound unit which I believe is compatible with the DR5088 over railcom, so you're absolutely right I think I will be using that protocol(?).
Just my two cents here as well - but if Digikeijs does revisit the manual, including Ryan's explanation of the 4 sensor tracks would also be a great addition in my opinion.
thank you both again for the assistance with this - I know I'm somewhat in over my head and that the Digikeijs stuff is extremely capable and configurable, so I greatly appreciate you guys taking the time to help me get started here.
