Make sure we get two coats of wax on there Biff!
Looks great, thank you for setting these up for us!

#4 and #5 finished. That's the end of that particular project.
One spinoff was a remount of the DP5 stack used to power and control the Si-PIN in my X-Ray tube XRF shield, into a GEO-123 style box.

No surprisesAm-241, ,#19012? after 16 HR into 24HR test. This is pretty routine now, the sensors and electronics were all tested pre Covid-19 and stored.

Understood about collimator.
For your research, the AMPTEK sensor used in these are new, factory packaged model AXRCR Detector, 25mm^2, 1 mil (not mm) beryllium window with matched PA230

Most of Amptek¡¯s detectors contain internal collimators to improve spectral quality. X-rays interacting near the edges of the active volume of the detector may produce small pulses due to partial

The second one is serial 1`9012, was set up from the factory so left it alone.

Geo,
Is there a reason you¡¯re running the HV at 130v. Most Si Pins should run around 150 to 200. Was 130 the optimal set point for that detector? A low voltage will increase the capacitance and

that's then latest aluminum version, the brass was great but had bothersome self-excited copper/zinc line.
It's just a mtter of time.
