Subject: X-Air Ultralight Aircraft Tubing spec. and wider cockpit entrance To: X-Air_Ultralight_Aircraft@... Received: Tuesday, 24 November, 2015, 1:01 PM I have made my X-Air with a extra wide entry as I'm in a wheelchair and needed more room to get my legs in.. we also made a new windscreen that was about 6inch further past the frame pipe.. I test flew it myself a few months ago after a almost 3 year build and now have 6 hours of the needed 25 hour flight testing on it so far.. on a different note I had the wing battens sliding out of the wing past the ailerons each flight due too the crap desigh of the nylon rib ends which I had many of them fall apart before it even flew so I custom made some bigger ones that are bolted to each battern and they are so much better and never had a issue since. I attached a pic for you too see the wide entry me and my Dad made, we basiclly re designed the hole entry area and added a extra mount support to the floor and its stronger that the standard design.. I do have many pictures of the mods we done for my build log as I am a paraplegic I also removed the foot peddles and added a extra lever for rudder in the middle of the seats with a custom throttle lever and it works so nice I very happy with what we have done, cheers Pete ? Does anyone know the tubing type and wall thickness of the tubing that the windshield?attaches to ? Also is there any info on fabricating a wider entrance ? Bolt and nut sizes
I am currently remodeling a 1993 X-Air standard. I was wondering if anyone had a list of the bolt and nut sizes and their locations. It seems someone has worked on this aircraft and it is obvious that some bolts are the wrong size. I have the original assembly manual but sizes are not listed .Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
