I am flying an X-Air F in tropical north Queensland, Australia with a brand new Rotax582 (65HP). In these hot humid conditions, the 582 is Ok with one up but certainly struggles a lot more with 2 POB and a full load. They are much heavier and feel a lot more solid in the air than the Standard, and it really doesn't like airspeeds below 50kts. Mine weighed in at 303kg empty but that includes a 16kg recovery chute, 2mm?polycarb screen and doors. A friend is flying the same F model in cooler climates, with a 618(75HP) using the same gearbox/prop combo, but without doors (at this time). Currently his performance and fuel burn appears similar but I expect that to change once the drag is reduced with the doors.
