In the link above the diagram of the rj45, now I include the part of the X5105.
Hope that works

Re: speaker on while charging
Good point, IronmanSubi?
Maybe the problem noise is actually, physically coming from the charger.? My system is completely quiet when turned off but charging.? Some power supplies (chargers) do make noise of their own, but usually it is just humming, not white noise. -- Doug, K8RFT |
Re: speaker on while charging
White noise or hums is normally an indication of a rectifier or capacitor issue with the power supply. ?Does the white noise change at all the longer the unit is charging. I can¡¯t see the Xiegu circuitry being the issue i feel it is simply responding to inadequate power supply or possibly the connection when the charge wire was assembled.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýCharging voltage I've been using is 13.8, have also charged it
from another battery 12.3 volt and always get the white noise from
the speaker. On 06/01/2022 23:51, IronmanSubie via

I use a Jetstream JTPS30LCD 30amp power supply set to 13.7v and as mentioned the x5105 is quiet as it should. Maybe check as well what you have it near when charging, maybe change its location and see if anything changes. Honestly and I¡¯m no electrical expert but that type of feedback isn¡¯t consistent with any device being charged.?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI also hear a white noise when charging and thought it was typical behavior. I think the noise is possibly there when operating, too.As a work around, I inserted one of the provided stereo plugs as a dummy into the speaker output to silent it. Since I operate primarily at my desk using FT8 with a headless Raspberry Pi, not hearing the audio doesn¡¯t affect me. So, I ended up just leaving it inserted. It is encouraging that others are not having this same issue. I¡¯ll take a look at my power supply output soon. 73 Joe K9SZ

Re: speaker on while charging
I use a 13.5v charger (branded "Belker"). On Thu, Jan 6, 2022 at 6:52 PM IronmanSubie via <Ironmansubie=[email protected]> wrote:

X5105 - V3 Build 8 - WIP ?
Is there a definitive list of X5105 V3.00 Build 8 firmware known issues and feature omissions ?
Much hype about the 6100 I fear is distracting Xiegu from finishing the radio I bought preventing users from getting the most out of their original investment.? Reinstatement of the CTCSS capability for repeater access (also not available within 6100 ??) would be one for the list along with single button Message launch for differing messages (like the original RE1,RE2 & RE3 feature).? QRP FT8 Operation results
Last May, I spent a month in Englewood, Florida 34224, grid EN63va77nq, running my X5105 at 2 watts output to a Butternut HF6V.? The antenna has had 17 meters added, and has a poor ground radial setup.? But it's only about 4 miles east of salt water, so it seems to be a good location.
I ran FT8 a lot of nights, when I couldn't sleep, and also some daytimes. I managed to work quite a few countries and a lot of states, even Hawaii. This was using a "homebrew" digital audio adapter, comprised of a small USB hub, with a cheap, small USB sound card and USB-to-serial board, all held inside an old candy tin box (4 x 5 x 2 inches).? The serial board does the RX/TX data and the RTS line controls the PTT.?? Another group user had the same problem I had, with making the 8-pin DIN plug fit into the radio socket, but mine was pretty easy to trim off the interfering plastic. I logged 221 QSOs during that month in Englewood, and I plan to do more from there this winter.? I will have my X5105, and an IC706MkII (which I run at about 12 watts). If anyone cares to see the log results, the log will be in the group's FILES section as X5105_Logbook1.pdf -- Doug, K8RFT |
