Im not sure but wouldnt an external battery of the correct voltage and current plugged into the charger port work and also provide a bit more output power?

Re: X5105 Battery?
"removed it from the Xiegu case. "
Measure its dimensions, carefully, and check Amazon and AliExpress for ones likely to be compatible.? With Amazon, try to be sure it's returnable if it doesn't fit. And post and all the specifications and measurements that you take or find! From earlier messages about the battery, it appeared that the dealer in England could get them, but not ship out of the country.? You could try to find someone there, or in Europe, who could buy one and ship it to you.? I believe that there's also a Facebook group for the X5105 - maybe there are members in England who might be willing to help. ------- Doug, K8RFT |
X5105 Battery?
My Xiegu X5105 battery has failed. Why isn't important, but it's dead. I have removed it from the Xiegu case. I need a replacement that preferably has the same specifications... LiFe Po, 3800 mAH, 12 volts, 3 conductor connector. Preferably fits into the Xiegu X5105.
I see many people looking for a replacement but apparently they are not available in the United States, and I have no expectation of traveling to Europe anytime soon to get one. I contacted Xiegu customer service (USA ?) and they are not able to help. Has anyone found a compatible battery here in the States? Has anyone hooked up an external battery and if so, specifications and source, please! Also, somewhat related, I popped one of those teeny tiny springs from one leg of the foot-stand and need to replace that too. Thank you all in advance... Norman W9VQ (w.nine.vq @ gmail.com) |
Re: Receive audio quality
I use a similar speaker made by Sony (XB-12).? While discontinued , I was recently able to find them new on ebay.? It¡¯s either wired or Bluetooth.? I use it with my X5105, my X6100, and even my IC-705.? The 705 has fairly decent audio already but the external speaker brings each radio¡¯s audio to another level.? I just wish Xiegu would get around to making the Bluetooth audio work in the X6100.? Until then I¡¯ll be wired with the Xiegu radios and wireless with my Icom.? This is money well spent it¡¯s simply a whole ¡®nuther audio experience with an external speaker.? Thomas K4SWL swears by the similar Anker speaker.? Get a quality external speaker, you won¡¯t regret it. On Tue, Jul 25, 2023 at 10:47 Mark WO7T <wo7t@...> wrote:

Re: Uncomplete System Settings Menu
Hi Bruno.? I would consider the charger menu item to be important but importance depends on the use case.? There were some issues with the V3 build 006 firmware you have installed. I have build 008 installed and have no missing menu items. Radiooddity link to firmware page follows.

Re: Uncomplete System Settings Menu
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Bruno, ? Welcome to the group. On your first question about the system menu, I have manuals for V1.0¡ and V3.0¡ Below are snips of those menus. I have never seen anything in-between and not sure which version you are seeing. ? ? On your second question about charging while operating, on my V3.0 unit, I have been operating on and off (receive/transmit) for 3+ years only with the charging cable connected (24H/7D) with no issues. The V3.0 manual states the following: ? ? I built a charge cable with an in-line 3A fuse and use an 800CCA 12VDC car battery to charge the unit and never had an issue with the battery running between 12.3 and 13.0 VDC (while smart charging) with no issues. If the X5105 does go haywire, the 3A fuse should protect it, but has never popped, to date. ? I am not sure about a V1.0 unit¡¯s ability to charge while XMIT, but don¡¯t believe it has the Menu-7 toggle for CHG ON. ? If you don¡¯t know what the missing menu options are, chances are you don¡¯t need them. ? I hope this helps. ? Best 73, Lou N2JPR ? ? Sent from for Windows ? From: Bruno

Uncomplete System Settings Menu
Hi All, I'm new in the Group. I bought a used X5105 . It seems? working. But I noticed that the System Settings Menu looks uncomplete (vs KE4RG and/or? Rev B).
serial Nr. is X0300259 and FW version appearing is? 3.0.0 , June 1? ?2019. System Menu that I see is the following: #1 LCD Backlight #2 LCD Contrast #3 Beep Volume #4 CW Tone Volume #5 Key BEEP #6 MIC Bias #7 RSSI Scale #8 User Key F1 #9 User Key F2 It looks? missing: - AM Mod Level - Band Stack Mode - Charger? - IF Output I suppose that differences are due by old Firmware inside. I'm not particular "crazy" to update (considering the risk to make damage) , but I should like to know from you if the functions that are missing are important or? not. IF Output:? I? don't think to use it? Charger ON/OFF:? in the manual there is written that you can't charge the battery when transmitting , but how may I use the external power supply? without charging the battery ? Am I forced to use battery only,? when transmitting ? - AM Mod Level? --? no idea? what it is
- Band Stack Mode? -- no idea what it is Many thanks for your valuable explanation and suggestions 73 Bruno |
Re: X5105 Battery

I have only seen one source of replacement batteries, and that was in England.? The batteries cannot be shipped out of the country (England, an apparently any other one) due to them containing hazardous materials.

Fast-charging a Li-ion battery reduces its service life.? That would be an acceptable trade-off where replacement batteries were easily available to purchase.? But these are not, so make 'em last.

Re: Unexpected Amber Backlighting
I have no issues with myX5105 but I think an amber display would look kinda neat. On Mon, Apr 17, 2023 at 23:58 Lisa WO0L via <lr7521061=[email protected]> wrote:
