X5105 V3.0 for sale
Peter W2SKY
This radio is working great with no known problems. The Battery charges to 12.36v from a 13.7v supply.? Battery starts at 12.0v off the power supply which is good for 2-4 hours before needing a recharge.? The SN is X0301240.? It has the latest firmware V3.0.0, Nov 26 2019 16:10:50.? It is packaged in the original box and includes:?
? ? ? ? - X5105 radio
- Microphone
- Power cable with Powerpole connector
- Accessory 8 pin DIN cable with a SignaLink RJ45 connector (SLCAB8PM)
- COM Interface cable: USB to 3.5mm 3 wire plug
- Operation Manual V3.0
The SignaLink in the photo is not included but used to show the radio in transmitting during a FT8 QSO.? I have infrequently enjoyed this radio since May 2021 in a few POTA locations and on my sunny patio using CW, SSB, Winlink and FT8. I have now upgraded to a IC-705 radio.??
?
Email me for photos of the rig including a FT8 QSO using a SignaLink connection.??
?Asking:? $410. Peter Fournia, W2SKY |
Re: I would like to find a way to use a computer-type headset with mic, for portable operation.
The X5105 mic connection is slightly different than the G106 and X6100.? The MIC BIAS terminal is not in the same position, so an electret mic would not work.
The W2ENY $27 adapter did not work on the X5105 either. -- -------- Doug, K8RFT |

Re: Xiegu ordering parts?
Thanks everyone. I was provided with a contact at Xiegu, but as you've said here nothing happens. No reply.? I guess I will open it up and look around the connector and see if I can find a manufacturer's mark and go from there.? If I find a part number that fits I'll post it to the group where I got it from.

Re: Xiegu ordering parts?
I agree with Doug.? Contacting Xeigu directly is a waste of time.? Don't even bother.? However I have found Alan Clunnie at Sinotel to be extraordinary at customer service.? I can't say enough about him.? He may not be able to provide the part but you have nothing to lose by contacting him directly at sales@...
Good luck.? BTW I am facing the same issue with the BNC conector. |

I would like to order it straight from Xiegu.?I've been with this group since it started, and have never heard of anyone successfully getting anything from Xiegu. But you could try checking with the U.S. dealers, like RadiOddity - they are pretty good with support. ?Sinotel in England seems to be able to get some things/parts, but they aren't too convenient to talk to. BNC connectors are quite well standardized, though, and you should be able to get one here in the U.S.A. without much difficulty. The hard part will be getting the radio open and apart without damaging anything.? It's a tight fit inside.? Somewhere in the group, maybe the archives too, were posted pictures of all the circuit boards inside the radio, taken by the FCC when they tested it for rules compliance. -------- Doug, K8RFT |

Re: X5105 CW Mode Transmit Intermittent
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi JP and group, ? Issue resolved. JP, thank you for indicating the direction of my troubleshooting. Late Saturday evening I attempted to remove the back cover by loosening the 4 screws. To my amazement, all 4 philips-head screws were LOOSE! I simply tightened them and then checked ALL of the case screws and found the micro allen-head screws in top and bottom panels also loose. Lastly, the chrome nut that holds the BNC connector was also not snug and took another ? of a turn to fully tighten. ? When I was done with that mechanical adjusting, I setup the rig with antenna and key and voila!, it began transmitting again. However, now I noticed that I had about 15% more power and the external tuner was not nearly as sensitive to tune for min SWR. I would even say that receive is more sensitive. ? Now, 5 QSOs and 4 hours later of operation, the rig runs consistently with no power disruptions. I also operated at min internal battery, about 11.5 VDC and max external input, about 13.5 VDC and rig is consistent in performance. I believe the issue is fixed. ? If anyone experiences weird performance and intermittent transmit, first try tightening all of the case screws and BNC nut to ensure good grounds all the way around. ? Best 73, Lou N2JPR ? ? ? From: JP McGinley Lou, Sent from for Windows ? From: Lou N2JPR via groups.io ? Hi JP, ? Great question! Yes, I did change the mode and key down but, quite honestly, thought that the programming of the rig would prevent output in those modes when keying the rig as the primary modulation driver is audio/mic. ? No, I did not get power out in FM, AM, or SSB but again, thought that was the rig¡¯s logic. I am more interested in understanding how you improved the standoff grounding and may contact you off-line. Thanks for your response. ? Best 73, Lou N2JPR ? Sent from for Windows ? From: JP McGinley ? Lou, Hope this helps ? ? |

Xiegu ordering parts?
Hello this weekend I picked up a 5105 and found that the BNC connector center receptacle is loose.? As in BNC has been used a lot and the center receptacle no longer grips the male pin tightly and when you wiggle the connector the connection comes and goes.? Looking at the BNC you can tell the receptacle is actually wider than it should be.? So I would like to order a replacement and install it.? Rather than look through many many catalogs trying to find this thing I would like to order it straight from Xiegu.? Does anyone have a connection or is there a process to secure parts directly?
Thanks, Randy randy.ab9go@... -- Thank you, Randy AB9GO |
