Did Radioddity mention the possibility of "common mode current' on the co-ax?? I have had troubles with my IC-706 with FT8 on some HF bands but not on others.? When I click "send" the radio buzzes 0 the T/R relay switches on and off very rapidly.? This seems to be affected by the weather, and is worse after a rain.? I'm suspecting there might be water in the co-ax cable, but I have not yet come up with a good test for that.? And it happened with two different antennas, each with its own separate co-ax feed line.? Adding ferrite toroid cores did seem to make some difference, but did not cure the problem.? The buzzing/switching problem occurs on the higher frequency bands, 15 up to 6 meters.? Lately, just on 15 meters.? My HF activity is on a GAP Challenger antenna, except for the 160 meter wire loop.? 6 meters has a separate dipole, hanging vertically from a tree.? And 6 meters seemed to have the problem the worst.
