Hey group. I¡¯ll preface this by saying I have no clue how ?an email group works, but I¡¯m glad to be here. I just acquired my first treadle today; a Wheeler & Wilson D9. I¡¯m from California, but living in Virginia for the time being.?

I have 3 sewing machines now, and probably won¡¯t acquire more as I¡¯m pretty set right now. My dream was to get a treadle and now I¡¯ve got one, but the d9 is harder to find info on/needles for than the lady at the shop told me..so I¡¯m hoping this group can help.

Welcome!?
Needles can usually be found here:?
The owner of that shop is Jon Helig.? In my book, he is the go-to expert on antique sewing machine needles, bobbins, shuttles, bobbin cases and more.
Wheeler and Wilson machines are spectacular.? I have several. ?

Thanks for all the great info!?

Jon Helig is a member here so he'll likely chime in.?
I have a D-9.? See its photo in my "new acquisition" topic thread started on 5/31/22.? There are those here who are way, way beyond me in W&W expertise but if I can help in any way, I'll try.? My D-9 arrived in good shape and didn't require much work.? The previous owner had used the parlor cabinet as a lamp stand and said that he "never dreamed" that anyone would want to buy it to actually sew on it.?
Anyway, I'd love to see a photo of yours.
The only advice I can give right now is to use actual sewing machine oil (smo) for cleaning and lubricating.? Don't use water, windex or other cleaning agents, even on the cast iron surface.? There are several good youtube videos on cleaning antique sewing machines while preserving the decals. ??

Welcome!
If you check out the "Files" section on the group's home page, you will find copies of a manual & other handy info on your "new" machine and it's attachments. Have fun!
