Jon; If this link works it is to a page from a 1908 Singer/Bridgeport catalog describing the 9W1 Through the 9W5. Based on this catalog & your description this sounds like it is more apt to be a 9W7

Likely you will be searching for the adapter for a while. I have the adapter that is original to a Singer 9W that belonged to Ray Sew Slow Waganka. The adapter will not fit any of my other 10 or 12

Mike Kendall and group, I just found a bobbin and the bobbin case under the sewing machine. It also has the cover for that area. It was stuck way back under the machine. I will try to send a picture.

Hello, It looks very much like a White Rotary model 43.? If there was a piece of cardboard put between the machine and the motor to keep the friction wheel from touching the hand wheel you are in
