A New Wheeler & Wilson or Two

Ok when I posted my introduction a month ago, I didn't have a Wheeler & Wilson yet, now I have two!

I got a Wheeler and Wilson No. 9. I resisted this machine for an entire month, but the price kept dropping, finally I succumbed. The cabinet is in fine cosmetic shape, but needs a little structural work on the drawers and drawer cases. I haven't sewn on this machine yet. The machine appears in good shape, I think she will sew fine without any work. Just need to get some needles, oil her up and see if I can shorten the belt without it falling apart. If not order a new belt.

But it doesn't stop there, a few days later I spy a Wheeler & Wilson No. 8. This is the machine I've wanted for a while now. This one pops up with the most gorgeous treadle table, I mean in perfect condition. I suspect that the machine may not be complete, but at the price they were asking I didn't care, basically they were giving it away. I was right it is missing the bobbin case and had no bobbins. I thought it would be a really long hunt for the bobbin case, or a beat up donor machine with a case. But I found three bobbins on Ebay for a reasonable?price. ?Some of the prices are just crazy. Then a generous soul on a Vintage Machine forum I belong to offered me the case. ?Should be here next week. I'm over the moon, can't wait to get this guy sewing.

Yes, I remember?I said I only had room for one treadle. ?Now I have three, because I also got a little Singer 24 for my birthday. In my defense the treadles are smaller than they look in pictures. So many new lovelies to play with, this is going to be fun.
