Re: Have you changed front Springs on the W?
My W has over 130,000 miles on it now, and I am thinking about replacing the front springs with Progressive springs.

Re: Have you changed front Springs on the W?
The springs are original, I don,t remember the length of the original
spacers , but if they are 4 inches , then yes my homemade spacers are 5
inches long. 100% improvement on handling plus less risk

Re: Have you changed front Springs on the W?
I made spacers that were one inch longer than stock standard out of a
length of pipe of the same dia, ( can't remember the length ) and only
that. No noises and 100% better front suspension. Remember

Re: Have you changed front Springs on the W?
Did you use a 2 inch spacer? Any noises when you ride? I had a shop put mine in when they rebuilt the suspension and they make a noise now.? I cut the spacers for them but... maybe the oil level is

Re: Have you changed front Springs on the W?
For those of us that are poverty ridden. Take out the top spacers in the
forks and make new ones from a piece of pipe . Length of spacer plus one
inch. You will have to push them down with the top nut

Have you changed front Springs on the W?
It's too soft up front. So annoying that it drops each time I shift or brake.

Folks, thanks so much to everyone for all their suggestions. I have two

Re: Side stand support for W800
I've looked for years online for one of these for the W650 and W800 and couldn't believe no one makes one consider how popular they were overseas but I never did fine one.? Thought about welding one

I used to live in a rural area so I often parked on dirt. I have a square piece of metal I keep in the tank bag. I drilled a hole in one corner and attached a piece of string with a loop on the other

I agree with you both, got a clamp on foot on my CB500X and it helps in
soft sand or grass, but the added size, if too large, causes problems when
the stand is up. On the other hand, often just choose

Re: Side stand support for W800
This a bit of a hassle, but you might have to try this: Make a tracing of your side stand foot, then visit some local dealers and compare your tracing to motorcycles that do have side stand accessory
