Yes. Check your chain tension any time you change anything on the rear end like that. Slipping or snapping a chain generally leads to expensive mayhem.

After the originals wore out, I've always had Bridgestone Spitfires on my W650. I can't recall how often I've replaced them. They seem to work pretty well and the price is reasonable.

I used to ride upstate New York roads where they salted them heavily in the winter. I don't think the salt ever got washed off until well into summer, so over the years the clear coat on my engine
