Yamaha RD 350 Content
I bought two RD 350s today, a 1974 RD 350 B (purple) and a 1975 RD 350 C (orange). OK, so I am lonely/bored and this is what I do.
The plan is to use one for parts and make one a runner, however, both seem to be intact..the 74 has a holed piston, but everything else is there..the 74 is kinda rusty too. Anyway, not a big investment yet, it should be fun getting them up and running...or at least, getting one of them up and running. James Franklin 2411 Pine Summit DR. Kazu, a Japanese W owner, used to have a vid on line of his W

his web pages.

Re: Exhausts & retro noise
开云体育These are the Dunstalls that were oem fitted by
Triumph VERY briefly in the early '70's. My T100R had these. Most people don't
realise they were ever factory fitted!
?
As far as the others go...Any 1and ?3/8ths
inch Burgess. The FishPipes were Burgess 'Blanks' which had W650 fittings welded
on before chroming. You'll need universal types but don't buy Toga, they are not
robust enough...I've seen a sectioned one...

even further.

Re: pipes
Ruari McLennan
mnthope, JC Whitney has separate baffles you can probably put in with a screw. The Triumph RAT forum praises these for loud pipes.

If you decide not to keep them but to sell, let me know, although I will hang on to my stock set and won't swap. Ruari ----- Original Message -----

Exhaust
开云体育Personally, I would not recommend messing around with the Stock Exhaust by trying to punch holes in it. ? Having traveled behind a couple of W650’s in the past, they have a “Great Note”. ? Mine seems to haven gotten louder over time, sound great, no longer backfires. ? The bike also seems to warm up quicker than it used too when I first got it! ? 2000 W650 “Stock” ? 87,000 Klms, ? Re: FAO Haze...NWC...
开云体育Both the B40s on ebay look very nice.
?
The Morini is a later model than mine as it has the
square section frame.? The mileage may be lower than the picture suggests -
mine showed 28000 when I got it but it was reading in kilometres, being an
Italian import.? If that is the case, you can buy a converter thing that
just screws on to the bottom of the speedo cable.? Looks like it has a
bigger tank on it, which would explain why it comes with a spare.? Mine has
a two into one exhaust but a different style silencer.? If you get it,
budget for having the cam belt changed asap.? They are about ?30 plus VAT
but you need a special tool (which I have) - having said that, I got NLM to do
mine while they had various covers & things off the bike anyway.? If
you go to look at it, run away if it doesn't start easily or you have any doubts
about the electrics!? They have a strange electrical system where the
indicators and back light run from the battery on a 6v system, the battery is
tiny and they last about a year but only cost ?5 a time.?The headlight
& starting are on a 12v system & not reliant on the battery so you
should always be able to start it.?
