Hi Ruari, I saw you posting about the posh exhaust system, from the
info I have found on Japanese web sites the posh comes as an entire
system with a new single wall header pipe which will blue, the cost is
about 106,000 yen last I saw. If you want anything from Japan talk to
the people at Windbell motorcycles in North Van. Their # is

they said they could import most parts from Japan. I live in surrey if
you are comming over give me a call at 604-501-1448. By the way my
name is Grant, good luck.

Yes, I'm not too terribly keen on it.? Especially if it gives a "knackered Honda twin" sound!? The options for a poor WRider who wants a teardrop "burgess" style muffler, (failing mounting a campaign for real copper undercoating at Armours), seem to include various pigs in pokes such as ;?

These are the Dunstalls that were oem fitted by Triumph VERY briefly in the early '70's. My T100R had these. Most people don't realise they were ever factory fitted!

As far as the others go...Any 1and ?3/8ths inch Burgess. The FishPipes were Burgess 'Blanks' which had W650 fittings welded on before chroming. You'll need universal types but don't buy Toga, they are not robust enough...I've seen a sectioned one...

mnthope, JC Whitney has separate baffles you can probably put in with a screw. The Triumph RAT forum praises these for loud pipes.

If you decide not to keep them but to sell, let me know, although I will hang on to my stock set and won't swap.

Both the B40s on ebay look very nice.
?
The Morini is a later model than mine as it has the square section frame.? The mileage may be lower than the picture suggests - mine showed 28000 when I got it but it was reading in kilometres, being an Italian import.? If that is the case, you can buy a converter thing that just screws on to the bottom of the speedo cable.? Looks like it has a bigger tank on it, which would explain why it comes with a spare.? Mine has a two into one exhaust but a different style silencer.? If you get it, budget for having the cam belt changed asap.? They are about ?30 plus VAT but you need a special tool (which I have) - having said that, I got NLM to do mine while they had various covers & things off the bike anyway.? If you go to look at it, run away if it doesn't start easily or you have any doubts about the electrics!? They have a strange electrical system where the indicators and back light run from the battery on a 6v system, the battery is tiny and they last about a year but only cost ?5 a time.?The headlight & starting are on a 12v system & not reliant on the battery so you should always be able to start it.?

There is a B40 BSA on ebay not far from me, I ahven't seen it, and in truth probably won't be able to as I?have left it too late methinks, as I dismissed it as I want to be able to ride it on the road and this looks as if it have never been registered.
?
There is also a Morini, same as yours, but it has a single 2-1 zorst, again going not far from me. He hasn't put how mnay miles down on the description but he has a picture, which shows it as having done 35k...its up for 500 quid.

Subject: [W650riders] Re: FAO Haze...NWC...

Depends on what information you have about it. This is roughly the
procedure, taken from the VMCC handbook who assist members in
registering old machines:

If you do not have the original reg number you can apply for an age
related number. You would need to fill in an application form for a
Statement of Search, which you send to the VMCC with ?6 if you are a
member or ?14 if a non-member. When the VMCC return the Statement of
Search, you take it to the local VLO together with a current MOT,
evidence of identity & your certificate of insurance. They will
probably then arrange an inspection of the machine.

If you are trying to retain the original registration the procedure is
slightly different & involves having the VMCC inspect the machine
rather than the VLO. I'm not sure how necessary the inspection is
since I am sure that the NACC offer a similar service but rely on
documents and photos sent to them, with a rubbing of the frame/engine
number. I think the BSAOC offer a similar service.

I'm not sure what difference there is if the trials bike has built
from bits of various bikes (which is what I am hoping to do). You can
get day-time MOTs. If it is pre-74, you can have a bulb-horn and no
lights so you don't need to worry about adding lights etc if it hasn't
already got them.

Have you found one you're wanting to buy?
