Re: New W650 owner
You do this by running the engine after the fuel petcock is turned off.?? I usually turn the fuel off a block from home.?? When the engine starts starving for fuel,? I know it's time to turn

Re: New W650 owner

Re: New W650 owner
Les, A W650 has about the smoothest idle of any bike I've ever had or heard.? Should sound something like a Singer sewing machine at under 1,000 RPM.? Nice, smooth, with very linear throttle

Re: New W650 owner

Re: New W650 owner - Petcock Marking
Excellent idea about marking the shutoff liver with a paint pen.I have done the same with my bikes as there doesn't seems to be standard for the way the lever works. I marked mine with a red Sharpie

Re: New W650 owner
Welcome indeed ! And never hesitate to post questions to the group . . . Re your petcock query, on the paddle there's a barely visible arrow stamped on its edge to let you know if you're on the tank,

IF YOUR w HAS BEEN RUNNING ON eTHANOL/GAS BLEND AND YOU ARE HAVING STARTING/ROUGH IDLING ISSUES? YOU LIKELY HAVE FOULED CARBURETORS. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BYPASS ALL THE CHEMICAL GAS TREATMENTS,

Get a copy of the factory service manual.Check out items and service intervals. I might know where you can get a digital copy. If you don't know the history, at the very least IMHO you should change
