Re: Weave WAS I've Done It (I think)

I meant Ventures wandered at 120 MPH ( I read W on my post, but I didn't type that on purpose, I must have been distracted), my first W, a 2000 bought new, has seen 115 MPH indicated..any occilation on that bike can be contributed to trade winds..45 - 60 MPH. On stretches without severe winds, the bike just moves along..at 115, I hadn't been winding long, in fact hadn't been in 5th long.

W II dances about at speeds over 90 MPH unless I move back on the seat..moving forward, towards the tank, has fixed this kind of problem on other bikes..didn't on W II though.

I have had the second W up to 105 MPH indicated..held it there for a while, and it didn't seem like it had any more.

So, you two, if I want to go up the highway on the W 500 miles or so, what
about wearing a large mountaineering backpack bigger at the bottom than top,
stuffed with crumpled newspaper to be very light, to fill in that
aerodynamic hole behind me and prevent weave?

Ruari ( who made it to an indicated 170 (105) the other day without weave
tops, but still cannot conceive how James got to 120)

from Jon Haddock-

. On the W the low pressure is generated behindf the rider and the rider
is
forced back into that zone. Because the rider resists being pulled back,
the
force is directed down through his arse onto the seat which squashes the
rear suspension. The pillion fills in that hole and their low pressure
zone
develops behind them BUT it isa lot less because rider plus pillion make
a
longer more aerodynamic shape.
and from James Franklin-

The Ws I have owned wander at 120 MPH or so
(but didn't with Marcia sitting behind me, so I think it is aerodynamics).
