So, you two, if I want to go up the highway on the W 500 miles or so, what about wearing a large mountaineering backpack bigger at the bottom than top, stuffed with crumpled newspaper to be very light, to fill in that aerodynamic hole behind me and prevent weave?
Ruari ( who made it to an indicated 170 (105) the other day without weave tops, but still cannot conceive how James got to 120)
from Jon Haddock-
. On the W the low pressure is generated behindf the rider and the rider is
forced back into that zone. Because the rider resists being pulled back, the
force is directed down through his arse onto the seat which squashes the
rear suspension. The pillion fills in that hole and their low pressure zone
develops behind them BUT it isa lot less because rider plus pillion make a
longer more aerodynamic shape.
and from James Franklin-
The Ws I have owned wander at 120 MPH or so
(but didn't with Marcia sitting behind me, so I think it is aerodynamics).
