Also, Nige, I forget what oil weight you are using, if it's 20W-50 go
to 10W-40. I assume your clutch lever is adjusted OK.
If these suggestions don't work, see if you can get to ride with and
swap with another W owner. There are more of you closer together
over there.
Perhaps you have a typical W650, but it doesn't sound like it, it
unfortunately sounds like you may have a problem bike, and if you get
to compare with another you'll know.
