The GS is the big trailee version.See
I rode it fitted with the low seat (to suit my short legs) and found it ultra comfortable. The upright position suits me and the foot rest position is ideal considering my old knee injury ( or should that be injury to my old knees) as it is like sitting in a chair. The screen is adjustable and seemed to give plenty of protection. Like my CB it is very tractable and once moving you very seldom have to use the gear box. Cruising at 85-90 felt very relaxed. Whilst it felt really refined compared to my old air heads it still unmistakably has the character of a BMW boxer. All in all fitted with hard luggage this could be the ideal bike for me.
The only 2 things stopping me changing immediately are the financial situation as 1100 is a lot of money for me. I would need at least 8000 to change from my CB 1300 S. and the fact that I'm currently watching a programme on the floods where the weather experts are forecasting more heavy rain and stating that there will no decent weather for the foreseeable future.

This from the guy who doesn't get enough miles in and sometimes questions
whether it's all too dreary to continue motorcycling?
Dick, how does the R1200GS differ from the 2007 R1200R, which is what an
acquaintance has?
