Re: W?VFW Radio Room
Gaylen- Thank you for the input regarding the post. WE certainally need more participation by Ham Club members. I was surprised FLDIGI copied CW as well as it did. I never tried that, and W1AW was one of the few stations on the air. Post 7pm Connecticut to Kansas on 20meters isn't bad. I'm sure they run a KW.. I actually operated W1AW years ago when I lived in New England.
Just after I sent that message I was called in to the Wednesday night card games to pitch hit for one of the ladies that didn't feel well and wanted to go home. So my evening in the ham shack got shortened but I felt I accomplished a bit. I still need to test Ham Radio Deluxe. I have the last copy of the FREE release Simon Brown authored, G4ELI who started with FT-817 commander.. a PSK31 program for th eQRP FT-817.. As I have one since 2001.. Great radio. Simon sold the Ham Radio Delux (HRD) to a group of US hams tha tnow sell it with a subscription for support. But I have the LAST FREE RELEASE if anyone wants to have it. It does everything FLDIGI does plus has a radio GUI for displaying the radio on the computer via CAT commands. It works with most KENWOODS-ICOMS- and YAESU's now.. My truck is back in the shop - they are taking care of a couple of minor problems from the 2.5 months it was being cleaned up. So I hitched a ride from 2 card players from Mulvane. Larry W8LM |

73's Chuck Digby --KB0TOT Lenexa KS Post) . Press Releases Bill Johnson Introduces Amateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Print this Page Share by Email Washington, June 12, 2023 Congressman Bill Johnson released the following statement after introducing H.R. 4006, the Amateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act, to govern private land use restrictions on amateur radio. Johnson was joined in introducing the legislation by Rep. Joe Courtney of Connecticut: Congressman Bill Johnson released the following statement after introducing H.R. 4006, the Amateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act, to govern private land use restrictions on amateur radio. Johnson was joined in introducing the legislation by Rep. Joe Courtney of Connecticut: Antennas are essential for all wireless communication, whether TV broadcasts, wireless internet, Wi-Fi, or amateur radio. Existing federal law provides for the installation of TV broadcast and wireless internet antennas and satellite dishes at private homes, but amateur radio antennas are not included in the statute as currently written. This bill would correct that. “I reintroduced the?Amateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act to remove barriers to disaster and emergency communications and training, and to promote education in STEM subjects related to critically needed wireless technology,” Bill Johnson said. “Passage of this bill will promote developing and sustaining our nation’s wireless future and facilitate and encourage amateur radio operations as a public benefit.” “As their actions during recent natural disasters such as Hurricane Sandy proved, amateur radio operators in Connecticut can be a critical component of disaster response and emergency management. It is in our communities’ best interest that we give them the capabilities to operate at the highest level, and with the re-introduction of this bill, we’ve taken a strong step in that direction,” said Rep. Courtney (CT-02). Rick Roderick, K5UR, President of The American Radio Relay League, the National Association For Amateur Radio, extended on behalf of the ARRL, its Members, and America’s Amateur Radio community their thanks and appreciation for the leadership of Congressman Johnson in his tireless efforts to support and protect the rights of all Amateur Radio Operators and to further STEM education and the advancement of American expertise in wireless technology.
