What I'm thinking is even just getting a group of us together to set up a common file of Wichita area frequencies- GMRS, Airport and other such would be fun.. then everyone can get the same programming as 999 channels is a bit of programming..
The 999 channels are not in banks or groups, but We could start with 000 for 2 meter ham, 100 for 440 ham, 200 for 222 ham, 300 for GMRS-FRS, 400 for Aircraft, 500 for commercial, 600 for Railroad, could even do 700 Kansas city, 800 Tulsa, 900 Oklahoma city..

If the group did a buy of those HT's - as mine came with 146/440 antenna but not a 220 antenna we could even design and build a triband antenna for home use..as a follow up project..

Another project - I'd even be interested in is a crystal radio and Gaylen has experience with that.. There are a number of inexpensive kits we could look into as well..

Just suggestions..

Patricia,

The Post's "newsletter" is limited in space, so graphics are not an option
in this regard. The Commander gets a full page on the obverse side with the
VFW Auxiliary, Riders, and Amateur Radio Club sharing space on the reverse
along with a listing of the Post's Officers

What I can do, is spiff it up a bit add an appropriate graphic or use a
photo or two that Michael Holmes took and post it on the VFW Post 3115
Facebook page if that is agreeable with you.

Respectfully,

Greetings Ham Family

On Facebook you may see a post from me, a public post and not the one I
posted to our group, that reads like a newspaper article. I am not a post
member, but I was thinking. Could someone who is please copy that post,
maybe fix it up a bit and add a graphic, and then have it put in the Post
newsletter? Publicity will help us as we grow our group. I can easily write
articles like this, but I then must pass them on as I don't know who to give
them to or how this process for the newsletter works. Getting articles in
there improves our club image.
