I'm another who uses their machines (an SL and a U3) to make model railway stuff. Typically chimneys and parts for 009 (OO/4mm scale narrow gauge using 9mm gauge track), I have turned my own wheels.

My 4-jaw chuck has a back plate with 4 holes, bolt pitch circle diameter is 26mm. My 3-jaw chuck has a back plate with 3 holes, bolt pitch circle diameter is 23mm. Screws are M4 Roman

Hello Lio: I use my drafts person's electric eraser to clean commutators. I use the gray eraser meant for removing ink. Notice the grind marks from dynamic balancing. A better quality motor. Carl.

What about making the backplate fit the chuck snugly and then use a transfer punch through the hole in the chuck.? Your screw holes are now marked.? Drill and tap for M4 screws Ed
