Re: Unimat 3 Collet chuck, ER-16?
Hey Jeff, Don't have any ER collets, just the two Collet chucks, one of which is an ESX25 for the Mill. The one on the Uni 3 lathe is 14Mx1 female spindle thread, but no way to tell if it's an ER

Re: Unimat 3 Collet chuck, ER-16?
Hi Paul, I have an ESX25 Collet Chuck as well. It came with my Uni 3 Mill (dedicated cast iron compound table base.) Still trying to figure out if my U3 Lathe Collet Chuck is am ER-16 or not. Guess I

Re: DB/SL Belt Sizes?
Jeff, Have you tried to make your own? VERY easy to do, cheap ($1.00/ft) and you can make any size you want to suit your needs. I bought 4 feet of 4mm round textured polyurethane belting about 10

Re: Unimat 3 Collet chuck, ER-16?
Paul RC Machines is where I purchased my ER16 and ER20 collet holders. I did not see where they had a ER25 for the M12x1 spindle. They have a good product for a fair price, but the shipping was high

Re: Unimat 3 Collet chuck, ER-16?
I forgot to add You can use a ER collet (grooved) in a E holder. But you can not use a E collet (non grooved ) in a ER holder. The ER holder has the snap ring inside it and it the snaps into the

Re: Unimat 3 Collet chuck, ER-16?
There's a photo of an E and ER collet side by side on my blog http://paulthehalfwit.blogspot.com/2014/01/a-collet-chuck-for-unimat.html (my apologies if you've already seen it). As you're looking at a

Re: Unimat 3 Collet chuck, ER-16?
Jeff The ER collets are easy to spot from the E. The ER have a groove in them at the widest part that goes all the way around them . On the inside of the nut is a "snap" ring that this groove snaps

DB/SL Belt Sizes?
Hey guys, need to get a belt set for my Uni 3 but more importantly my DB200 so I can run my scroll and circular saw. Does anyone know the sizes? They appear to be 5mm in diameter. I just need to two

Re: Unimat 3 Collet chuck, ER-16?
I have both the ER16 and the ER20 for the unimat. I also purchased the cheap Chinese collet sets on Ebay. The ER20 set was missing the 5mm one, but had two of the 3mm. I contacted the USA seller and

Re: Unimat 3 Collet chuck, ER-16?
That's just the difference I noticed - RegoFix collets are more flexible and have a finer finish - but I get the same concentricity from both, so I'm not sure it matters. I assume the flexibility

Re: Unimat 3 Collet chuck, ER-16?
Hi Gang: I have ER-32 collets, and the difference I see in Rego vs. China, is the Rego flex with much less force. They are a little more shiny too. I built a M12x1 ER-32 collet chuck for my Unimat.

Re: Unimat 3 Collet chuck, ER-16?
Certainly later collet holders take ER16s. Look for an eccentric ridge inside the nut - that engages on the collet and pulls it open when you undo it. This stops you having to stuff a bar up the

Re: Unimat SL - fret saw attachment
Green hammer tone would date it as about mid 1965 or a little later. The last of the MK4 lathes had the same green as the early die cast ZAMAC SLs. They were introduced in the MK2a era and came in
