This is "Bitec" hammered green. Available in the UK.
On screen this looks nearer to the SL colours I have lived with !
shows a blue very like some Unimats I have seen, and, of course, silver, which has also been used. It looks like the smallest tin they do is 1 litre (1 ? UK, 2 ? US pints). I'm tempted to get a small tin for a few SL parts I will be refurbishing one day, and then pass what's left on to someone else who needs it (UK only!) However, I've gt very little left of the SL, and it will be some time - years - before I get to it.
I did not paint a unimat Pink, but do think it would be appropriate as it a favored happy color for me;? I do like the unimat hammered Bronze color that Bill in OKC referenced, too.? ?I do have a Rose Gold Michaels metal cart though.... thought I might use the IKEA Raskog for a mobile lathe tool unit someday.? I did purchase one but it is still in the box.
I do think the SL generation should be green.? My uni is a DB/SL with a Canada badge, and it came to me in Uni green, so the plan is to keep it uni green. I am going with the attempt to color match the existing color on this lathe, and then spray it with rustoleum clear hammered finish.
I have to investigate the base paint, as I don't want water base, if I can avoid it, I do have 3 neighboring states, so will have to make some phone calls.? I'm in Indiana and Michigan is only 20 minutes from me - but I don't know if they have a paint store in the neighboring city across the state line.... and I'm about 2 hours from Chicago, and 2 hours to the Ohio border.? I was confused if I am getting an enamel based paint in Indiana or not at the local Sherwin Williams, and since I have to buy a $30 quart, it is kinda expensive to not get an oil based paint, I would rather try to add this to a road trip if I am not getting an enamel base paint.
Need more than color, you also need? mix date and lot number. Good luck with that! I found half a dozen cans of Rust-Oleum Hammered Dark Bronze spray paint at my local Home Depot. I'm standardized on that until I run out. Authenticity would be nice, but not worth sweating over. Consider yourselves lucky. I have a Lewis Shaper. They were sold as kits, machined and assembled by each individual and painted any way they wanted... Nothing even remotely resembling a "standard" paint color. ;)

?And add to that that I have seen three variations of the "Standard color". The Common Green, One with a slight yellow to it and one with a slight blue to it. And that would be normal for a industrial finish that spanned many years of production. You mix Yellow and Blue to get green, so it would be very easy to be off a bit in the ratio. And this was pre computers etc.?
?And no one mentions that the Unimat also came in a "Hammered" Sliver grey.?

All this discussion is wasting time as it has no definitive answer.? The Unimat was produced in several different colors, so there is NO ONE COLOR that is the ¡°correct¡± one.? Besides, the paint colors everyone seems to be searching for are no longer manufactured and no longer distributed.? Accept that, paint your machines whatever color(s) you like, ?then get on with it and use the time you spend writing these e-mails to actually MAKE something with your machines.

Well I asked the "good" bodyman.? This is the shop that the local MB dealership will send you to.? I just stated earlier that they do not do hammered paint.? The Sherwin Williams auto paint store does not handle anything called hammered paint.? Unless someone can tell us all exactly what to do, I conclude that most of this business is a fantasy.? As far as the paint is faded routine, many Unimats are barely taken out of the box.? Yes, original Unimat colors vary.? I have several.? But so far we as a group cannot come up with anything at all, at least for the US.

I am in NJ.? I called the Sherwin Williams auto paint store.? They have never heard of hammered finish.? I then called Caruso's Auto Body in Plainfield NJ, who mostly paint higher end cars.? The man there has heard of what is called "hammered" and referred me to an auto paint supplier, Alebert Kemperle, in Amityville NY.? They can match colors, but have no hammered finishes. So we figure that something should be able to be done, the friendly paint store, auto paints, and so on.? Some online sites tell us such and such.? We as a group may be talkiing around in circles and engaging in wishful thinking.? Can someone here say what they have actually done(not theorized) to blend a paint that duplicates Unimat hammered green?? And please not in the past they had some blend maybe made.? Tell us the paints and the colors or tints.
Please tell us you saved all the links! And will share them with us?

A prior item "garage journal" had mentioned these Paragon paints(non-US).
A previous item noted that maybe a Rustoleum hammered gold could work.? I assume the idea is to take hammered silver, add the hammered dark green, then the gold, and see if a color can be made to match Uni green.? Has anyone?actually done this?? I do not want to be the first to spend $70 on 3 cans of paint to find that it does not work.

Can you please identify these paints? I compared my phone image of these wiith 2 Unimats.? My color eye says that a little yellow is needed to tone these colors to match a typical Uni.? Opinions please?
Thank You all for the information. Since This was My first post it
took some time to be approved. When I read it and found out about
the one for sale it had some bids on it already. Does anybody know
if it was first offered for Buy It Now, if so what that price may
have been? I looks like a good price for now but may change by
Monday.?
