You can also get a small chuck (looks like a Dremel chuck) with a 3mm shank and a cross hole that can be set up in the tailstock in a piece of round with a 3 mm hole to also act as a fine feed chuck.

Note that the spec says drills down to 1/32". I use ER11 collets in the tailstock - they go down to 0.5 mm. However my smaller drills, down to 0.5 mm have a 3/32" (2.38 mm) shank. I have a smaller set

Can some here clarify what chucks are being used on Unimats that cannot hold tiny drills?? For some of this work, I prefer to use the Sherline or Cowells lathes simply because I have little Jacobs

Another option for holding tiny drills is a pin chuck, held in a regular chuck. I have an Eclipse one, which I have used in a Unimat and also in a bench drill. Not as good as a collet chuck, but still

For those tiny drill bits, #80, 79, 78 etc., here is what I do. The chucks on my SL are too big to hold the bits. I have a dremel motor tool. It has the collects which hold these small drill bits.
