The Dremel chuck has a 8mm x 0.75 thread. But other threads are available. I have a Dremelesque coreless drill bought from Aldi and that has a 7mm thread. The Dremel system also supports collets, but normally only one size is supplied. The other sizes are available yo buy via fleabay or Aliexpress. The collets work well for small size drills.

For those tiny drill bits, #80, 79, 78 etc., here is what I do. The chucks on my SL are too big to hold the bits. I have a dremel motor tool. It has the collects which hold these small drill bits. These collects will not fit in the unimat chucks. I do have the dremel drill press, but if I want an accurate hole, there is too much wobble

I duplicated the the threads on the dremel, this would be the dremel's spindle. Now I can put that in any unimat chuck and use dremel's tightening nut to hold the collect which holds the small drill bit.

One can buy these collects and the nut that tightens without purchasing a dremel. I asked their customer service what the thread was on my dremel's spindle and they supplied the answer.
