The Unimat 4 is essentially the same as the 3 but with a better motor that will manage continuous running. I have not seen any other differences. I have used dead-centres to find that the alignment was off. Eccentricity... Well, I think I have looked for that by turning the headstock while?checking... As I could see, it did not affect the alignment when I turned the headstock spindle. I started with a drill chuck?holding the centre drill, it had sort of "milling" action and did not produce a hole with a sharp point in the bottom but instead a "flat" I concluded that the centre was off and set up with a collet in the tailstock, same result and that made me think that the tailstock is off-centre. I'll check the way it is fastened to the base plate, it may be an issue! The base plate I have is a "weak" piece of particle board but I have some pieces of 30 mm kitchen top bench material that might be better. Will also find a long enough steel ruler and check that the bed is straight.? I bought this one second had and had it stored for a long time, now I started using it and found this as the first and main issue to manage, hope it's the only one beside making new belts... Thanks!
