Re: Rustoleum Green Hammered

?If you go back and read the replies, you will note that one thing stands out, They people who have more then one Unimat all noted that the color does vary a bit between units. I have seen this many times, it can vary from a slight yellow to a slight blue tint in it.? So that means that you are not going to be able to do a touch up. But you will have to total repaint. So who cares if the color is not a "exact" match. I doubt the factory did a "exact" match through all of the years of production. Get something close or paint it what color you like and enjoy it. The Golden Grail Rust-o-leum paint is very close on a couple of my Unimats and not so close on two others. So at best you can only hope to match it to the lathe that you have.?
?The OEM paint used some nasty stuff in it. The Rust-o-leum also used some nasty stuff. Stuff that is getting harder and harder to find. SW is probably fading out using paint with Toulene in it, just like it is getting harder to find real oil based enamels.? If that is the case they you will have to find a old store with a old experienced paint mixer to make it for you.?
?Take time to search the web for Hammered paint, there are options out, they are not cheap or fast. But there are many posts about it. You may have to mix up a lot of paint before you can get what you want, but it can be done. Have you contacted a Sign Shop, they tend to be experts on matching paint colors.

Subject: Re: [Unimat] Rustoleum Green Hammered

I am not driving all over NJ and PA to interview paint stores.? So far, 4 commercial SW, including one in person, have said that they cannot do it.? Again the story is that somehow this local friendly paint store does the job.? If this is the case, someone can tell me take Rustoleum Hammered Silver, add a certain proportion of specific tint(s), and that will be the color.? So far, in all of this talk, no one has identified the magic formula? ?if I go to the hardware store for Benjamin Moore wall paint, they will mix certain colors to get a specific green.? The can label tells me what.? Go and look at the SW site, and you can find a huge number of paints that they can mix.? ?
What do we have for our Unimats hammered paint?? Nothing.?
