keep coming back
9
Hi everyone, Will I have tried APRSIS and don’t care for it much. Have tried to get Xastir and BPQ working but I’m not a Linux guy. Started out with UI-View after trying some other Windows sytems many years ago and keep coming back. Loved all the features it had to bad they don’t all still worked. Wish there was a way to reverse engineer and update it. Wonder how many out there are like me and still use it. Jeff kb5nmb

Delay??
4
Hello all, I'm using version 2.3.121, in vox mode and a signal link. If a station pauses or their audio is low, echolink drops out. I've tried adjustments but doesn't seem to help it. Strong audio and stations who don't pause work fine. What's the cure? .....wa2nan...Kerry -- Sent from Outlook Email App for Android

what was old is still the king....
4
been years since i played around with APRS. the local club recently brought an APRS station back to life. I started looking around for the latest software to take advantage of the newer radios and win 10 etc... found soundmodem by trying the UISS software, seems to be a good alternative to Direwolf or AFWPE. If you download the latest soundmodem version from the authors' website, I dont see the needed supported mode info....... I still have my registration info for UI-view, and I'm working on putting it all back together using a FT-991. I remember there needed to be a lot of edits affecting routing in the U.S., but cant seem to find the info. are the changes still valid?

UI-Hist
3
For nearly ten years I have been running a UI-View/UI-Hist installation to monitor the telemetry from two remote APRS digipeaters. This configuration has migrated through various computers running various versions of Windows, up through and including Windows 10. Now, along came Windows 11. UI-View installs and runs OK, but when I click the File-History/Telemetry option I get the response "Run Time Error - 214746762 (80004002) No Such Interface Supported". UI-Hist is the 32 bit version, but so, of course is UI-View which runs OK. Nevertheless, I suspect some new Windows 11 restriction on 32-bit programs. Any advice would be appreciated. Winhlp32.exe for Windows 7

I've just installed UI-View on an old Windows 7 Pro computer and am having trouble locating a copy of Winhlp32 for that version as Microsoft no longer has it online. If someone has a copy, I would appreciate a copy, and perhaps uploading a copy to the Files section here. Thanks -- *Tyler WB7DD*

Ui-View and PA7RHM Mapserver Ver 2.0.1 installation files
11
Hello, The hard drive on MB7UXX iGate finally gave up after 10 years use. I've reinstalled Windows XP and ui-view, but the mapserver that's available to download does not appear to be comparable with ui-view installed on XP, coming up with a number of paths and folders not existing. I have a copy of the original folders from the old failed hard drive and copying the mapserver folders over stops the errors, but I can not load a new map. Does anyone have a copy of the old PA7RHM Mapserver Ver 2.0.1 installation files that could let me have a copy of please? Updating the PC to a newer version of windows isn't an option, hence being stuck in the dark ages, but the PC works, I've a few new IDE drives that can be used, it's just the old PA7RHM Mapserver Ver 2.0.1 installation files I am desperately in need of to get MB7UXX back on air. Any help would be very much appreciated. Regards, Keith G4MSF Sysop of MB7UXX

I followed the instructions to register at https://www.apritch.co.uk/uiv32.htm and when I enter my call sign M7JDV it says “it has not been possible to process a registration request with the specified call sign”. The call sign is valid. What am I missing?

NEED SOME HELP..IS ANYONE THERE?
4
Hello, Kerry-wa2nan here. Is this group still active, I don't seem to get any answers to my requested question. I'm running ui-view32 with WUHU heavy weather uploaded and LaCrosse ws-2812u-it weather station. The wuhu input is the currdat.lst file and that works fine. The wuhu output file will only do a .lst file but ui-view wx needs a wx data .txt file. How do I produce the .txt file that ui-view wx setup is looking for. I tried editing the wuhu configuration Data.ini but not sure I put in the right information. Can anyone steer me to the setup explination...thank you...Kerry Kerry@... -- Sent from Outlook Email App for Android

China Has Hijacked WA8LMF.com !!
5
For about a week now, looking up WA8LMF on findu.com or aprs.fi has yielded a map showing my location as being in Los Angeles. (Rather than my current location in Haslett in central Michigan.) This is due to the igate BG0GE-6 in Xi'an China constantly igating a playback of the APRS Test CD I created over 16 years ago. This CD was intended for direct audio playback into TNCs for testing; not for over-the-air transmission. One of the tracks on the CD is a recording of me, off-the-air, doing a 20-mile drive test around the San Gabriel Valley east of Los Angeles. This recording, for reasons unknown, is now being played back constantly into the APRS Internet System via the BG0GE-6 igate, constantly over-writing my current position reports from here in Michigan. The fake APRS drive test being endlessly repeated on the Internet! After considerable search, I located an email address for BG0GE <bg0ge@...> and sent him an email asking him to please stop this igating. I have received no response back. My website is WA8LMF.net . Today, I discovered that WA8LMF.COM (a domain I haven't used for many years) is now a Chinese porn site!! I have now configured a copy of UIview to beacon into the Internet (not over the air) my current location every 60 seconds. This includes the comment "BG0GE-6 Igate In China Disrupting My Posit!" . Hoping they will get the message..... This is wierd !!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stephen H. APRS Ghost From The Past
When I made my usual morning check of my UI-webserver mapping displays at <http://WA8LMF.net/map> I was startled to see my mobile (WA8LMF - no SSID) in Los Angeles instead of here in the East Lansing area of central Michigan. Checking APRS.fi. I found a track I drove in 2005 around Los Angeles' San Gabriel Valley to create track 4 of my TNC Test CD! (The TNC Test CD image is downloadable from my website.) <http://WA8LMF.net/TNCtest> Further investigation found this was passed into the APRS-IS by a station in China *BG0GE-6 <https://aprs.fi/#!call=a%2FBG0GE-6> . BGF0GE *appears to be an igate in Xi'an, China - home of the famous Terracotta Warriors. Apparently, he got a copy of my TNC Test CD and played it over the air (or at least into the Internet) instead of audio directly into a TNC under test. Wierd At least it appears that China's "Great Firewall" isn't blocking my website....... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stephen H.
