Hi Joe,
I can tell you that Uiview and your d700 should work just fine with windows 10, mine does with no problems. Make sure you use the usb adapter with FTDI as that is generally the only one that work properly.
Make sure uivew is NOT installed in the PROGRAM FILES directories in the main directory tree, install it anywhere else but not there. Windows 7 and above have some system protection stuff that can block uiview from running properly if it is in the Program files directory. Also when you run uiview make sure you run it with administrator priviliges (just right click on the uiview icon and chose the ¡°run as administrator¡± option). Works better that way.
Also go into the device manager and check the properties of the usb/serial adapter and find out what port number it has set itself up as, then go into the uivew coms setup menu and set the port number there to that port number, also make sure you have the port parameters in uiview set to the same as the adapter has setup for its port number. The defaults should be baud rate 9600, parity none, data bits 8, stop bits 1.
Hope this helps,
Bill (VA1ALW)
