Keeping to the letter of the licence, then every time you cross you should
use the 'proper' call for the country that you are in (or Principality, but
let's not get that deep here - HI!).
This that follows isnt an argument...more a 2m repeater dribble of thoughts...
<ducks>
Ooo. the Kenwood THD7 doesn't have CWID by the way :)
Personally, since /m you dont need a log - then sticking to your home
call even when (gasp) in Eng-e-land strikes me as a non heinous crime.
Its not as if I'm being imprecise with my actual location?? :)
If I do have to change callsigns then I'll do what PAF did today - run
hell for leather back across the state line but leave a GW 'shadow'
permanently anchored in Cymru. :) Thats MORE misleading n'est ce pas?
I can't actually do it without slapping a terminal prog onto theTNC
and replacing the GPS and deactivating GPS mode and changing MYcall and
then reactivating the GPS mode...etc etc
and then.... what of packet in France. Im GW0TQM there - cos you CANT
put a slash in mycall... <visual imagery goes off the scale>
All this riding the cutting edge of the wave of IT makes yer legs ache...
Vive l'europe.
Happy New Year!
