Re: IABSM vs CoC info
For Chain of Command the author deliberately chose to use full size squads/sections to make it easier for players to follow the historic tactical manuals for the period or create their own platoons based on historic TOEs. If you use the CoC platoons in a campaign setting, in which the rules excel, you will find after a couple of games the size of squads often reflects those found in the IABSM rules.
You will find ratings for some full TOE size units for IABSM in the “Battle for Liberation“ handbook which can serve as a guide if you want to use full size units under those rules, though since you are fielding a company it isn’t really necessary in my experience. John |
Re: IABSM vs CoC info
IABSM tends to go with the usual effective strength of sections, allowing for casualties, detached troops, etc. CoC goes for full paper strength. Neither is wrong, just a different approach. Seelow Hts 6mm IABSM game AAR
We actually played this one back in August but I just got around to editing the pics.? The scenario is based on the attack up Reichstrasse 1 by the 74th Gds Rifle Rgt and later the 104th Hvy Gds Tk Rgt? The area is defended by elements of 76th PzGrd Rgt and Volkstrumm.? So this game was really an excuse to get my newly finished 2D6wargaming Volkstrumm out.? Lots of understrength units and loads of casualties?

Clotted Lard 2022
Hi all,
Last weekend saw the running of the fifth Clotted Lard in a new venue, Lympstone Village Hall in Lympstone Village, nestled on the banks of the River Exe in East Devon. As well as enjoying an afternoon Devon Cream Tea, participants were able to indulge themselves in a feast of Lard, featuring nine sets of rules played over twelve games, ranging from ancients to WWII, land, sea and air warfare, whilst also supporting a very important local charity, the Devon Air Ambulance. |
Re: Kokoda Trail creek crossing AAR
开云体育滨’尘 a Honor Harrington fan myself, but I can’t think of a way to reproduce those big space combat battles. Yet!V. 1 is boring, the wall of battle being too complex. It’s like Nelson’s line of battle and Flying Circus (SPI) the S&T version.?
I’ll have to try one of your books. Bk 1 ?

6mm IABSM Rots June 11, 44 AAR
This was the 2nd part of the Rots June 11, 44 game.? This was the actual assault into Rots by A and B Troops of the 46 RMC along with 2 and 3 Troop and the HQ tanks of the Fort Garry Horse.? The town was defended by elements of 4 Kompanie, 12 SS PzGrd Rgt and the grenadiers of 1st Kompanie PzGrd Rgt 26 of the 12th SS Div.
The attack would come from the NW and west side of the table (the near side)? The village of LeHamel and the River Mue are off table to the west.
John played the Germans and he was told that the Brits/Cdn are to the north and Nw?
William could bring the Commandos in from the roads on the west edge and we went with their historical route of the Chemin de la Cavee, Commandos had 2 troops and the support of 2 troops of M4s/Fireflies and 2 HQ troop M4s.? The Germans had a weak company and 4 Panthers and 1 PaK 40. Link to flickr report:? ? Mark |

Hungary 1945 6mm IABSM AAR
Thought I would cool off with a winter game so set up a Hungary 45 IABSM scenario.? Its inspired by the German actions to relieve Budapest in January to give me a chance to put some Tiger IIs on the table.

Re: Pacific BtH
Yeah, by Guadalcanal the US training system was delivering pilots of excellent quality.? Ace in a day
Jefferson Joseph DeBlanc had 10 hours in the Wildcat. The Japanese system relied on the squadron that new pilots were assigned to for the advanced training that everyone else was doing before sending them to their permanent assignment. Add in the Japanese habit of dying for the Emperor and the quality of their pilots crashed in short order. Thomas B On Sat, Aug 6, 2022 at 10:28 AM Elizabeth <jamesmanto@...> wrote:
