Re: New TinyTrak Group Member 8000FA Questions.
Thanks for the tip on non-MIC-E. I will disable that and SB. My GPS BR355 does not have a connector on it. Only wires - Green, White, Red and Black. So I soldered the wires to a DE9F accordingly. Here

Re: New TinyTrak Group Member 8000FA Questions.
Steve, Rob,et al The kinda-sorta TT3 chip in the MT-8000FA should not be allowing a transmission at all, except for a start-up packet that does not contain a position report. Unless the PIC determines

Re: New TinyTrak Group Member 8000FA Questions.
First, I agree with Allen - set a fixed TX rate (non-SmartBeaconing), non-Mic-E and decode it locally from another radio - if possible. Main website I looked at: https://www.embeddedworks.net/satl182/

Re: New TinyTrak Group Member 8000FA Questions.
I don¡¯t believe the mt8k is transmitting GPS coordinates because I don¡¯t see them on aprs.fi <http://aprs.fi/> and I have a Kenwood TM-D710GA that is also in the test vehicle and is tuned to

Re: New TinyTrak Group Member 8000FA Questions.
How do you know that it is not transmitting GPS coordinates, etc. When it is transmitting? Do you have a method to directly decode the transmitted data or are you assuming such, because you don't see

Re: New TinyTrak Group Member 8000FA Questions.
So, here is where I at. All cables made up and work. Built 1/4 wave VHF antenna and in the process of tuning it. Testing - connected mt8k to Comet VHF/UHF mag mount, GPS model BR-355 (via DB9F) and

Re: Another Digipeater - Not receiving stations
Are you running the HTX with open squelch? If not, I suggest doing so, since the Squelch will clip the beginning of packets, making them effectively unreadable. I also strongly suggest setting the

Re: Another Digipeater - Not receiving stations
Greetings, The Radio Shack HTX-252 has never worked well in Packet because of an audio "twist" the radio produces. Had many people try to use them, only to swap out the radio for an ICOM or other rig

Re: Kenwood TM-281A APRS Digipeater/igate
Matt, You are going to need a programming cable. If you set up your system as an I-Gate, you will also need that same cable to facilitate TT4-to-Computer communications to run your i-gate software.

Nico, You need to check the send telemetry box, and enter 2 into the "channels" box. The other stuff is for sending your definitions over-the-air, which is not the best way to do things.Leave them
