So, here is where I at. All cables made up and work. Built 1/4 wave VHF antenna and in the process of tuning it.?
Testing - connected mt8k to Comet VHF/UHF mag mount, GPS model BR-355 (via DB9F) and 11.1V Lipo Battery.
mt8k transmits my call sign and STATUS every 5 minutes as programmed but does not transmit GPS coordinates, altitude or timestamp. Checked DB9F wiring and it is correct - White to pin 2, Red to Pin 4 and Black to pin 5 according to GPS pin out schematic. Tired disabling MIC-E but results do not change.
I see a comment by Rob that talks about a 10k resistor which I did not use:
