No you understood the question perfectly, My thought for being able to reset the radio was like you said used a 30-second time delay when commanded.? Then?just reset the tnc every now and again.
The area I am in is definitely not busy on the APRS frequency but that could change if I put in a digi on a mountain.
But yeah... That's a lil more then I wanna get into... Don't wanna open that can of worms.
But actually last night I already ordered your Byonics DTMF remote with transceiver built in cuz I figured it couldn't be that easy.
It will have MUCH lower power consumption then having to install a whole nother radio just for a DTMF controller.
