This query is more to a matter of interest, at least at the moment, but I am confused.
I have a TT3+ which uses a 16F628 PIC included in the kit.
I note from the Byonics site, they have made other Firmware available for different applications (rather than the basic tracker) and a set of tracker Firmware to revert to the tracker mode (a later version) if you change your mind.?
Out of interest, I downloaded the file which includes in the instructions a cryptic (to me at least) comment:
"Note only TinyTrak3Plus's with the 16F1827 chip can be upgraded this way."
I assume from this, the current TT3+ are shipped with a 16F1827, which it seems is compatible with the 16F628 (I am happy to be correct on this).?
There is also a reference to?Tera Term Pro and, reading the instructions, it seems the supplied 16F1827 has some extra code included to allow it to work with Tera Term Pro,? Again, I am happy to be corrected on this.?
Now my question:
Can I use another method (in particular a normal programmer) to simply load the? *.t3f? file into either a? 16F1827 or even a 16F628 (a new one) and use the programmed device in my? TT3+.
I am assuming Tera Term Pro is a Windows programme and, while I can access a Windows machine, I prefer to use Linux.?
At the moment this is just a question asked out of interest rather than something I plan/need to do.
