You might be being short-sighted. I don't think "the highest good"
is a crock unless you think it is. And why would you? Because
perhaps deep down you don't think your being rich is actually in
the highest good. Correct?

i.e. You want to be rich. Would you engage in illegal behavior to
be rich? No , probably. Because that's limited thinking. It's saying
you have to get rich at someone else's expense.

IOW the highest good.

How about the Enron kind of illegal behavior? i.e. the kind that
everyone applauds until it all goes horribly wrong.

To me "the highest good" is not asking permission per se, it is
asking for the farthest sight possible.

Hi, Adrienne.

I like "for my highest good" and "this or something better"
because often
there is something even more delicious and wonderful and
fantastic right
around the corner for me, that I just haven't imagined yet with
my outer
being/human mindset. (Hey, if there is an inner being

I believe that I may be One with God at the level of my Inner
Being, but
that God is much more than I am. Since often the small "I" that
is my ego
doesn't know the larger picture, but my Inner Being as it
merges with God
and all that is, does know the larger picture, I like to leave room
for
something EVEN BETTER than the best I can currently
envision to become my
experience.

Say a child has been sickly and ill for all of his young life.
When people
talk about "health", all he can think of is being free of being
miserable
and in pain and feeling lousy--it is just too far out of his
experience so
far, to envision radiant vitality and perfect health. So "not sick"
is
probably all he can imagine.

If I believe that my life can be a constant unfoldment of greater
and
greater joy and peace and growth and fulfillment, which I do,
then if I
leave it open at the top when I create, then more and more
good can come to
me. I recommend the book "Love and Law" which is early talks
by Ernest
Holmes, the founder of Science of Mind. When Abraham talks
about
deliberate creation, they are revealing the "law" part of how to
create.
When Abraham says "There is great love for you here" they are
affirming
that God, beyond being a creative medium, is a loving
presence as well.
All that is, is geared toward bringing us the best in life if we
allow it
in--why not allow MORE and BETTER than we can think of at
the moment?

Thanks for asking such an interesting question, for in
answering it for
myself, I get to soar.

Sue
