Which Torx Size must I buy to refurberish someTM5000 Series Relais

Hi to All,

Which Torx Size must I buy to put into the very very small Torx Screws, used for the fixation of the 148-0128-03 Relais in e.g. a FG5010? Thank you in advance.

Greetings,

Egge Siert

Greetings,

I'm not exactly sure of the torx size you need.

However you might wish to consider this little set available from Amazon.

I have this set and it has a nice selection of small drivers including small torx.

For what its worth.

Regards,

Ken

Egge Siert,

?

I don’t recall any TM500/5000 series using Torx at all. Tek uses Posi heads and hex set screws for knobs. Having said that, many HP products use Torx. The smallest Torx I have ever come across in a piece of test equipment is a T5. T8 is also a common small size. A set of T5 through T10 should cover just about everything you will come across in electronics. T15 is sometimes used for very big things.

Hi Dennis.

The SG5030 uses Torx as fasteners for e.g. the Rear Panel and the Interface Board.

The same sort of Relais (148-0128-03/04) is used in the DP501. And yes mine uses Torx as fastener for these Relais.

Sorry I know this thread is super old, but I'm looking at these relays (148-0128-03) on a CG5011 I am trying to repair. I used a T4 bit to remove the screws. so it seems Torx T4 would be the correct size.

Hi Frank,

I bought then a Wiha PicoFfinisch 267P Set (T4-T9). Excellent Set. By the way Torx Drivers also fit Allen/Hex Setscrews in a superior way. Very handy when you must use force in releasing Setscrews of the Knobs on your Scope.

Eggie,

Nice! That set is much better than what I have. I just have some generic small size bit kit I got from Amazon - very cheap. But it does come in handy. I need to get something a bit more quality because a few of the bits just get warped or break.

Just be careful using a torx on a hex drive - it can strip the screw even worse. or damage the bit if you use cheap ones like me lol.
